Yesterday, 105 days before Christmas, Toys ‘R’ Us unveiled its Holiday Hot Toy List for 2015. As you’d expect, licensed brands from Disney, especially Star Wars, figured prominently, capturing four of the coveted “Fabulous 15” spots. At least six of the Fab 15 were licensed, including (in the order listed by TRU):
- Doc McStuffins Take Care of Me Lambie from Just Play (Disney)
- PAW Patrol PAW Patroller from Spin Master (Nickelodeon)
- LEGO Dimension Starter Pack (featuring characters from Warner Bros.)
- Hasbro’s BladeBuilders Jedi Master Lightsaber (Disney)
- Star Wars R2-D2 Interactive Robotic Droid from Thinkway Toys (Disney)
- Guitar Hero Live from Activision.
The TRU list runs 36 deep. Licensed toys that didn’t make the Fab 15 but still appeared include:
- DINOTRUX Mega Chompin Ty Rux from Mattel (DreamWorks Animation)
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Giant Leonardo Playset from Playmates Toys (Nickelodeon)
- Hasbro’s Pie Face Game (Rocket Games)
- Girl Scouts Cookie Oven from Wicked Cool Toys
- Marvel Avengers XPV Remote Control Hulk Smash from Jakks Pacific (Disney/Marvel)
- Hasbro’s Playmation Marvel Avengers Starter Pack (Disney/Marvel)
- Project Mc2 Doll with Experiment (MGA Entertainment)
- Skylanders SuperChargers Starter Pack (Activision Publishing).
