Licensing software company Octane5 says the University of Massachusetts is the latest to adopt its BrandComply College licensing platform.
The company developed BrandComply College to meet the specialized needs of universities and colleges dealing with unique licensing issues. The software is similar to the standard BrandComply product, with added features to meet the specific needs in the educational sphere.
The product line is run by a separate division of Octane5, to ensure the software features always keep the needs of educational institutions first and foremost. UMass also adopted Octane5’s VerityTV security hang tags and labels, the company says.
“For many schools, managing a licensing program in-house makes sense. BrandComply College makes that process easy and the addition of UMass proves that out,” said John Mybeck, President of BrandComply College. “BrandComply College lets institutions manage their entire program – product approvals, royalties, contracts, assets and brand protection all in one place.”
The University of Massachusetts is a world-class public research university with world-class educational programs, groundbreaking research enterprises, a wide range of industry engagement activities, and highly successful programs in football, basketball, hockey, and many other sports under the university’s Minutemen brand.
As one of America’s leading universities, U Mass also runs a robust and complex licensing program, making license management critical, says Evelin Simmons, University Trademark and Licensing Director at the University of Massachusetts.
“As an independent, multi-campus system, our team at UMass was blown away by the functionality and reporting analytics that BrandComply College offers its clients. There is nothing quite like it and we knew right away it would help transform our program,” said Simmons. “These initial positive impressions have only grown since we launched the tool. The BrandComply College team and their launch process are incredible and we’re building the program we always envisioned for our fans and stakeholders at UMass.”
That reaction is being shared by other institutions, says Mybeck, particularly since the release of BrandComply College.
“We appreciate the trust placed in us by the UMass team and all our partner institutions,” Mybeck says. “Interest in our solutions continues to grow with more and more schools joining and the market response has been incredibly gratifying.”
