SONIC Drive-In has partnered with Slim Jim, a product line from Conagra Brands, to bring Sonic’s chili cheese coney flavor to the meat snacks category at thousands of retail outlets. The licensing partnership was brokered by Sonic’s exclusive licensing agency, Brand Central.
Sonic is an iconic part of the country’s fast food scene. Founded in 1953, SONIC Drive-In is the largest drive-in restaurant in the United States with more than 3,600 restaurants nationwide. It is part of the Inspire Brands family of restaurants.
The chili cheese coney is a Sonic fan favorite and with millions served each year. The Slim Jim Monster size meat stick, offering nearly 2 oz. of beefy protein, will be paired with Sonic’s Chili Cheese Coney flavor.
Slim Jim is produced as one of the most popular product lines from Conagra Brands, a leading branded food company with operations throughout North America. Conagra’s brands include Birds Eye, Marie Callender’s, Banquet, Healthy Choice, Slim Jim, Reddi-wip, and Vlasic, as well as emerging brands like Angie’s BOOMCHICKAPOP, Duke’s, Earth Balance, Gardein, and Frontera.
The new Slim Jim meat stick joins Sonic’s other licensed product partners in mass, grocery and specialty stores including:pudding and gelatin mixes and shelf stable slush bars by Jelsert, frozen novelties from Ziegenfelder, and Ghost’s sports nutrition products featuring iconic flavors like Cherry Limeade and Ocean Water.
In addition to this new license agreement with Conagra Brands, Brand Central and Sonic continue to scale their consumer products program as they seek new partnerships in categories such as lifestyle merchandise, salty snacks, alcoholic beverages and more.
