Warner Bros. Consumer Products and DC are releasing several collections of licensed products inspired by Warner Bros. Pictures’ upcoming film Black Adam.
Warner Bros. Consumer Products and DC will be joining forces with premier toy, apparel, home goods and food partners for the comprehensive program of Black Adam-themed merchandise.
The licensed products will be made available to mass market and specialty retailers leading up to the film’s theatrical release, which begins Oct. 19 internationally and Oct. 21 in North America.
Joining forces with some of the top licensees in their respective categories, WBCP will offer products in the following categories:
Fashion and Footwear:
A licensed line of athletic performance wear called the Black Adam Training collection will be released on Oct. 6. Created by Project Rock and Under Armour, the Black Adam Training collection was inspired by the work Dwayne Johnson put in to prepare for his role as the leading character in the upcoming Black Adam film. The limited-edition collection features apparel, accessories and The Ultimate Training shoe, the Black Adam PR 5.
Other new Black Adam fashion licensees include Bioworld, Fifth Sun, Issac Morris, LTD, Trevco, and IML for men, women and children. These collections will be available for purchase at Target and Amazon. Walmart will carry its own exclusive line of t-shirts from Mad Engine and more. Hot Topic has also released a range of Black Adam graphic t-shirts.
Warner Bros.’ DC Shop will carry additional licensed merchandise from partners including McFarlane, Loungefly and Brandup.
Accessories and Jewelry:
The accessory company, Loungefly is releasing a Black Adam-themed Cosplay Mini Backpack alongside a matching Ziparound wallet.
The specialty jewelry maker, RockLove will debut a licensed Black Adam necklace in the shape of a lightning bolt, signifying the character’s superpowers.
The popular retailer, Hot Topic is releasing a licensed collection of earrings, charm bracelets, pins, necklaces, scrunchies and keychains featuring ancient Egyptian symbols and lightning bolts to celebrate Black Adam’s origins and abilities.
In addition, Amazon has released a line of Buckle-Down wallets and belts inspired by the character.
Toys & Collectibles:
The global children’s entertainment company, Spin Master is releasing a collection of highly detailed action figures based on the characters from the upcoming Black Adam film. The company has also developed a first edition figure of the Hawk Cruiser which comes with four-inch figures of Black Adam and Hawkman. The new Spin Master Black Adam collection is available at Target, Walmart and Amazon.
The collectible manufacturer McFarlane has released a line of collectibles featuring Black Adam, Dr. Fate, Hawkman, Cyclone and more. The manufacturer has also developed mega figures featuring Atom Smasher and Sabbac.
DC Direct is releasing authentic Black Adam movie statues for popular retailers such as Amazon, Target, Walmart, and GameStop.
The iconic Funko brand is releasing a licensed collection celebrating Black Adam in the company’s signature style. The lineup introduces new Pop! figures of Black Adam, Cyclone, Dr. Fate, Atom Smasher, Sabbac, and Hawkman. Funko is also unleashing new glow-in-the-dark Pop! collectibles of Black Adam on Throne and Hawkman in Cruiser.
The popular costume manufacturer, Rubies is releasing Deluxe Black Adam costumes for men, women, and children. Walmart stores nationwide will feature the Black Adam Child’s Costume.
Cartamundi will be launching a collection of hybrid trading cards complete with digital NFT twins for Chapter 2 of DC’s Unlock the Multiverse hybrid collection. The collection is available for purchase for pre-order starting Oct. 11 at Hro.gg. The collection will be released to retailers in the USA, UK, India, and Brazil this fall.
Food and Beverage:
ZOA Energy and Warner Bros. Consumer Products are teaming up on specially designed Black Adam energy drink cans. Each 16-ounce can features a design rooted in the upcoming film’s narrative. ZOA Energy is also giving fans early access to behind-the-scenes footage from the Black Adam film through a QR code on its limited-edition cans.
In Canada, General Mills is featuring the Black Adam character on the boxes of its popular snack brands Motts Fruitsations, Nature Valley Granola Bars and Pillsbury Brownies.
Legacy Licensing is releasing a licensed Black Adam Reusable Tote Bag. Made from strong polypropylene for extra carrying capacity and a longer life, the Reusable Tote Bags will be available at Publix, Kroger, Albertsons, Meijer, HEB, Safeway and United Supermarkets starting in September.
Homegoods and Pets:
Trends International is releasing a line of Black Adam wall posters. The posters are printed on premium paper with high-quality ink and are available now on Amazon, Walmart.com, ShopTrends.com.
Silver Buffalo has released a 20 oz. Ceramic Camper Mug that features an image of Black Adam on one side and a themed lightning bolt on the other side.
Tervis has created a licensed double-walled Black Adam Stainless Steel Tumbler. The tumbler features artwork of the iconic antihero printed with eco-friendly plant-based inks.
Hallmark will offer an authentic Black Adam collectible ornament for the holidays available for purchase online and in Hallmark Gold Crown stores.
Trevco has released a line of ultra-silky Black Adam blankets. In addition, the company has developed a line of Black Adam-themed beach towels
Buckle-Down has created a durable and long-lasting dog toy featuring the Black Adam character.
Publishing:
DC will offer a wide range of books and comics for the Black Adam fan. DC’s Black Adam Box Set is a collection of Black Adam/JSA: Black Reign, Shazam! Vol. 1, and Black Adam: Rise and Fall of an Empire. The bundle is currently available on Amazon. Also from DC comes a dramatic graphic novel called Black Adam: The Dark Age (New Edition).
For DC Superhero fans ages five to eight, Random House is offering Black Adam Strikes! and Shazam Featuring Black Adam. In addition, Capstone Publishing has released Black Adam: An Origin Story. This easy to read graphic novel can be found on Amazon.
International:
In Australia and New Zealand, consumer electronics retailer Zing Pop Culture and Australian theme park Warner Bros. Movie World will welcome DC’s most powerful antihero with ranges that span adult and children’s apparel, headwear, drinkware and accessories.
In Brazil, WBCP and DC will offer new collections from Jandaia, Riachuelo/Fanlab, Iron Studios, Sunny, MacFarlane, and Belfix. A special collection will also launch in the region’s official DC Comics store featuring t-shirts, collectable cards, sweatshirts, mugs, pillows, mousepad and notebook case.
Mexico will be covered in the fashion and home categories with a new apparel launch from Aurimoda which includes t-shirts and sweatshirts for kids and men, an accessories line from Dadivit, and a new collection of mugs from Regalos Siglo XXI to support Black Adam.
Across Central America, Ecuador, and Chile, Carls Jr. will be launching local Black Adam programs that will support the movie in all of their Quick Service Restaurant locations across these territories. Additionally, key apparel partners such as By Desko in Argentina and Textiles Arval in Peru will be releasing Black Adam-themed collections. Cacivaches in Colombia will be releasing a line of Black Adam costumes
In the UK, signed partners include Rubies and AMSCAN for dress-up for both adults and children, Pyramid International for posters and gifting, and Abysse for homeware. Additionally, a range of Black Adam t-shirts are available from EMP in Germany. And in Spain, Lefties has plans to launch a Black Adam sweatshirt.
In India, there’ll be a multi-partner launch with TheSouledStore.com and Bewakoof.com that will launch a range of Black Adam fashion tees and accessories. Octave Clothing and Bioworld Merchandising also have a range of fashion apparel across retail chains and online. Suditi Apparel will have an athletic leisure range, and Epicstuff.com will launch collectibles and a home product collection. In addition, Zebronics India will launch a line of Black Adam audio accessories and wearables.
Partners in countries around Southeast Asia are also joining in with new product launches in the fashion, home and accessories categories. In Malaysia, Lotus’s Hypermarket and Brands Outlet recently launched a Black Adam inspired apparel collection. Aurora Italia will also be launching a Black Adam 0.5g Gold Bar timed with the local movie premiere.
In the Philippines, there’ll be branded home and office accessories including a waterproof Bluetooth speaker, insulated tumbler, earbuds and more from Our Licensed Collective, alongside teen and young adult apparel from Reinfore and Goldwing.
In Indonesia, Matahari Department Store has released a special range of Black Adam tees, and Lotus Archi will be launching a limited edition Black Adam Gold Mint Bar with special packaging. And finally, EZ-Link in Singapore, will soon launch a Black Adam version of its contactless prepaid transit card.
Dwayne Johnson stars in the upcoming action adventure film, Black Adam. This is the first-ever feature film to explore the story of the long-standing DC Super Hero.
“Black Adam deserved more than a portrayal,” said Dwayne Johnson. “He deserved a transformation. Every training session, every rep, every drop of sweat was my commitment to disrupt the very notion about this character and myself.”
The movie is directed by Jaume Collet-Serra from a screenplay written by Adam Sztykiel, Rory Haines, and Sohrab Noshirvani.
