In another example of how the Metaverse is rapidly expanding into licensing, Spin Master has announced its Bakugan franchise will be the first-ever to premiere a full-length series episode on Roblox, the global online platform that brings millions of people together through shared experiences.
As detailed in The Licensing Letter‘s Special Report, Licensing in the Metaverse, companies like Roblox, Minecraft, Facebook, and Decentraland, are increasingly hosting art auctions, sporting events, concerts, and fashion shows.
Roblox is arguably the largest current player in the Metaverse sector, acting as a digital platform where other creators can produce and sell digital assets, ranging from character skins, TV shows and movies, music, mini-games, and more.
“Roblox offers entertainment franchises a completely new way to engage with fans online in immersive 3D virtual experiences that make up the metaverse,” explains Christina Wootton, Vice President of Brand Partnerships at Roblox. “By merging our collective audiences, we are able to offer the Roblox community as well as Bakugan fans new and unique ways to connect and experience entertainment together within the Roblox metaverse.”
Bakugan is a global battling franchise anchored by the anime adventure series that also boasts digital content, an innovative toy line, card game and video game.
Spin Master says it will engage fans in an all-new immersive viewing experience on Roblox. Premiering Sept. 8, episode 317 from season three, Bakugan: Geogan Rising, will debut within the Bakugan hub on the Roblox platform, extending the adventure into the Metaverse, and creating a unique viewing experience for existing Bakugan fans and attracting new ones.

Bakugan: Geogan Rising is season three of the series. Part one of Geogan Rising currently airs on Netflix. Episode 317, is part of part two, which will debut on Roblox on Sept. 8 and on Netflix on Sept. 15.
