The 30-minute show tells the story of the affectionate Elmo meeting up with a stray Puppy, adopting her, and then going on a mission to find Tango her forever home. The show, produced in partnership with A Productions, will premiere on Aug. 5 on HBO Max, and will air again next year on PBS KIDS.
Surprising absolutely no one, Sesame Workshop has already signed up 15 licensing deals for the new puppy. Those licensing partners include: Studio Fun (picture books), PI Kids (picture books), General Mills (branded cereal boxes), GUND (plush, pictured), ASO (bandages), Random House Children’s Books (books), Lerner Publishing Group (books), Bendon (books), Earth’s Best (snacks), CPS (apparel and pillowcases), Trevco (t-shirts), Children’s Apparel Network (apparel), NoJo (preschool bedding), SG Companies (footwear) and Zazzle (customized toys and accessories).
Sesame Workshop says a number of these “phase-one products” are currently being released across North America.
