Gifts and Collectibles Being Developed For Dungeons & Dragons and Magic: The Gathering
Collectibles company Fanattik has partnered with Hasbro on a new line of products for its wildly popular games Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons.
As reported this past week by The Licensing Letter, those two franchises saw massive sales growth during the pandemic, as the major revenue sources for Hasbro’s Wizards of the Coast and Digital Gaming segment, which accounted for an astounding 75% of Hasbro’s profits. Together, those two games contributed $365.3 million to Hasbro’s bottom line in Q1 alone.
The Fanattik’s team says it will be working with Hasbro’s will work with the brands to develop pop culture focused gifts and collectables including money boxes, clocks, gifts, and more. “You can’t get much bigger than Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons,” said Anthony Marks, the Managing Director for Fanattik. “Retailers have enjoyed strong sales with TCG related product created by Fanattik over the past two years, and they were asking us to replicate this success with other brands and we listened to them.”
The two tabletop gaming brands enjoy a massive and almost obsessively dedicated global fanbase, and both saw those numbers grow further during the pandemic in 2020 and early 2021. That popularity has now spawned a Netflix series based on Magic: The Gathering; an upcoming live action Dungeons & Dragons film; and several video games are under development.
“With sales related to both of these brands exploding in Europe, we would like to invite gift and toy retailers who are not already talking to Fanattik to contact myself to book a video appointment to learn more about both of these ranges,” said Luiz Ferreira, head of sales, Fanattik.
