Hasbro, Inc. has announced the completion of its licensing acquisition of D&D Beyond from Fandom, Inc.

D&D Beyond is the massively popular digital RPG toolset and game companion to the iconic fantasy franchise, Dungeons & Dragons.

It features online versions of the official Dungeons & Dragons fifth edition books, as well as provides digital tools that streamline the D&D experience. These tools include a character builder, monster and spell listings, an encounter builder, and an interactive overlay Twitch Extension.

D&D Beyond was previously owned and operated by Fandom, the world’s largest digital fan platform. Founded in 2004 by Jimmy Wales and Angela Beesley Starling, Fandom was built using the technology that powers Wikipedia.

Hasbro is a global entertainment company that delivers immersive brand experiences for global audiences through consumer products, entertainment through eOne, and gaming through Wizards of the Coast.

Wizards of the Coast is an award-winning table-top and digital game developer owned by Hasbro Inc. that is best known for its high fantasy franchises, Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons.

The acquisition of D&D Beyond will greatly improve Wizards of the Coast’s ability to expand their world-class tabletop and digital gaming universe across all regions.

To celebrate the closing of the deal, D&D Beyond will unlock the highly popular starter adventure, Lost Mine of Phandelver for all new and existing registered users. In addition, registered users can redeem a copy of Acquisitions Incorporated between May 19 and 26.
