HI-CHEW and Menchie’s Launch New Frozen Yogurt Collab

June 5, 2025

By Allison Watkinson

Morinaga America and Menchie’s are launching a limited-edition HI-CHEW frozen yogurt flavor as part of their long-standing licensing partnership.
Inspired by the Blue Hawaii candy from HI-CHEW’s Fantasy Mix, the licensed frozen yogurt features a blend of sweet citrus and juicy pineapple fruit flavors.
The new offering is created with non-fat frozen yogurt, which features no artificial flavors, no artificial colors and no high-fructose corn syrup.
“At HI-CHEW, we’re always exploring new ways to connect with our consumers and bring our signature fruit-forward flavors to life in exciting ways,” said Morinaga America CEO, Teruhiro (Terry) Kawabe. “Teaming up with Menchie’s allows us to meet brand fans where their cravings are, at the intersection of bold flavor and fun experiences,” added Kawabe. “The launch of the HI-CHEW Blue Hawaii Tropical Candy flavor is a perfect example of how HI-CHEW continues to innovate and surprise our fans in unexpected and delightful ways.”
Now in its seventh year, the partnership between the two brands specializes in bringing HI-CHEW’s bright fruit flavors to Menchie’s menu of high-quality self-serve frozen yogurts.
The obgoing collaboration has previously offered limited-edition flavors like Key Lime Pie, Raspberry, Rainbow Sherbert, Tropical Smoothie and Dragon Fruit.
“We look forward to our HI-CHEW collaboration year after year, and we couldn’t be more excited to bring our guests something even more adventurous this summer,” said Menchie’s VP, Elizabeth Berry. “Blue Hawaii Tropical Candy embodies our commitment to fun and flavor in every swirl, offering an enjoyable treat that brings a taste of tropical bliss to our cherished guests nationwide,” added Berry. “We’re proud to partner with HI-CHEW again to make the month of June deliciously unforgettable.”
The exclusive HI-CHEW Blue Hawaii Tropical Candy frozen yogurt flavor is available to customers at participating Menchie’s stores in the United States throughout the month of June.
Menchie’s is a North American self-serve frozen yogurt franchise that offers a wide selection of rotating yogurt flavors and premium toppings.
In addition to its main dairy-based product, the company offers a range of frozen treat options that cater to vegan, dairy-free, gluten-free and zero-sugar added diets.
Distributed by Morinaga America in the US, HI-CHEW is a chewy candy brand that features intense flavors made from concentrated fruit juices.
HI-CHEW candy is free of gluten and is created with no colors from synthetic sources.
Initially launched by the Japanese confectionay manufacturer Morinaga & Co., the candy brand has released over 300 different flavors in Japan since it was first introduced.
Morinaga America was established in 2008 as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Morinaga & Co. to handle the American distribution and marketing of its candy properties.
