The new family-friendly audio company, Starglow Media has officially debuted with a slate of premium licensed programming.
Founded by Jed Baker, Starglow Media specializes in audio content that is exclusively tailored for children and families. The current intended demographic is for children between age three and age twelve.
The company’s current licensed audio series span multiple genres such as education, bedtime stories, adventure, science and kid-friendly news.
Starglow Media’s initial lineup of audio shows includes Girl Tales by Cordelia Studios, Who Smarted by Atomic Entertainment, KidNuz by KidzNuz, and the Stories Podcast and its Sleep Series companion podcast by Wondery Kids.
“Kids & Family is the fastest growing genre in audio at the moment due to 71% of US parents saying they’re concerned their child is spending too much time on screens,” said Starglow Media CEO, Jed Baker. “Audio is the perfect alternative, but right now there is far too little content being provided as evidenced by the most recent report from Edison Research and KidsListen. We could not be more excited to help solve this problem and intend to launch the next big franchises, brands, and characters in the kids space audio first!”
Prior to founding Starglow Media, Jed Baker worked at United Talent Agency (UTA) in its TV and podcast department.
UTA is currently serving as Starglow Media’s representative for audio partnerships.
“We are thrilled to be working with Jed in this new capacity as the opportunities for this genre are immense and we’re just scratching the surface, both in audio and other derivative formats,” said UTA partner, Oren Rosenbaum.
The company plans to launch original audio programming and additional licensed content in the coming months with celebrity voices from entertainment, sports and more.
