The Licensing Letter’s annual survey on royalties and payments is now closed, and readers can expect to see the survey data in the next issue of the monthly TLL newsletter on Sept. 1.
We want to thank the many readers who have participated in our surveys this year, including both the Royalty Survey this month and the earlier survey on licensing sales figures.
This survey was run during one of the most challenging times ever faced by the licensing and consumer product industry, making direct comparisons difficult, and challenging industry professionals to adapt their businesses to the realities of rotating lockdowns, restrictions, and crippled supply chains.
The good news is that the industry did adapt, and some sectors have actually boomed during the pandemic, while others fought hard to survive.
Since 1978, The Licensing Letter has been providing the inside scoop to licensing professionals on everything from marketing budgets and guaranteed minimums to royalties paid in a wide range of product categories.
Once more our readers have come through, providing invaluable data for the industry as a whole.
As part of the survey process, TLL will be completing its special report from the data, after which the report will be published in our monthly newsletter, with free copies sent to everyone who participated. As well, we are sending those participants copies of the recent Special Reports ‘Rise of the Virtual Influencer’ and last month’s Licensing in the Metaverse.
Thanks to all who took part and we look forward to sharing our data with our industry partners.
