Who’s News: Paramount Consumer Products Taps Dan Cook As New Executive Hire

By Allison Watkinson

TLL Reporter

Paramount Consumer Products has announced Dan Cook is joining the company as Senior Vice President of Global E-Commerce.

Paramount Consumer Products oversees all licensing and merchandising for Paramount. Paramount is a global entertainment company that creates media content and experiences for a global audience.

In addition, Paramount Consumer Products oversees the online direct-to-consumer business for CBS and Showtime programming merchandise, as well as standalone branded ecommerce websites for Star Trek, SpongeBob, MTV, and more.

Cook will be responsible for the operational management and growth strategy of the company’s expanding e-commerce business sector.

His work will include pure play e-commerce retailers, omni channel retailers and third-party marketplace accounts. Dan will set the strategy for e-commerce maximization at all omni-channel accounts. Omni-channel accounts use an integrated approach to sales that encompasses both online and offline retail accounts.

In his new role, Cook will also use his considerable experience to help expand e-commerce penetration by creating new sales strategies and developing marketing programs. He will also be responsible for developing new business models to streamline all available consumer products categories.

“Dan’s extensive experience and leadership in digital commerce will strengthen our connection with fans of our franchises and allow us to more quickly flex to the needs of our customers and partners,” said Vlachos. “We could not be more thrilled to have Dan join our Paramount Consumer Products team.”

Prior to joining Paramount, Cook held a number of e-commerce positions with Unilever, Mondelez International, and Walmart. In these positions he was responsible for digital performance and competitive growth. Cook has also held previous positions at Target, The Nielsen Company, Supervalu and Macy’s.

Based in Los Angeles, Cook will report to Dion Vlachos, Executive Vice President of Hardlines and Retail at Paramount Consumer Products.
