Amtrak and Crayola have launched a licensing partnership that offers promotional discounts and experiences inspired by train travel and creative exploration.
Through the partnership, the brands are running exclusive offers and colorful locomotive designs to encourage families to engage in Amtrak travel and Crayola Experience destinations.
The discounts offered through the partnership include free travel for children on specific Amtrack lines and free admission to Crayola Experience destinations through Amtrak child tickets.
Available from May 8 to August 31, the Amtrak-exclusive discount offers are available on rail lines that coincide with Crayola Experience locations.
“We’re thrilled about our newly minted partnership with Crayola, arriving just in time for the summer travel season,” said Amtrak VP, Jessica Davidson. “Both Amtrak and Crayola are iconic brands, which together can unlock unique, memorable experiences for children and adults alike. Between special savings and imaginative locomotive designs, we are excited to foster extraordinary journeys and inspire creativity across America.”
As part of the limited-edition activation, Amtrack is showcasing colorful designs inspired by Crayola crayons on two of its ACS-64 Sprinter electric locomotives.
The first locomotive prominently features Crayola’s Violet Blue color, as well as drapery that depicts the company’s collection of eight retired crayon colors that was recently brought back for a limited time.
The second locomotive is enveloped in the brand’s golden yellow Dandelion color and features imagery of the company’s character mascot, Dan D.
Both locomotives also showcase the collaboration’s ‘Creativity on the Go!’ slogan to further highlight the Amtrak and Crayola partnership.
The rolling displays are scheduled to take place along Amtrack’s route through the Northeast Corridor from Washington, D.C., to Boston, Massachusetts.
“Our collaboration with Amtrak is the perfect example of how Crayola is bringing our celebration of color and creativity to new and unexpected places,” said Crayola head, Anna Roca. “Featuring our Limited Edition colors and immersive family destinations, this partnership commemorates the colorful and creative impact these colors have had on generations of consumers, celebrates the enduring value of childhood creativity, and inspires creative moments for our fans.”
A subsidiary of Hallmark Cards, Crayola is an art supply company that specializes in children’s creative expression products and experiences.
Known for the Crayola Crayon that was initially introduced in 1903, the Crayola brand has grown to include a wide range of art tools, crafting activities and creativity toys.
