Arcade1Up has officially released its new Deluxe Edition arcade machines in partnership with Bandai Namco Entertainment.
Arcade1up is a video game console brand that specializes in developing ¾ scale home arcade and pinball machines featuring licensed games. The brand is owned by the home entertainment company Tastemakers.
The Deluxe Edition arcade machines feature a streamlined style, a single-cabinet design, Wi-Fi capabilities, a joystick, buttons, a decorative front coin door, and a lit marquee. Select Deluxe models also include a 17″ LCD screen in a laid-back position that is inspired by the design of old-school arcade machines.
The collection is an expansion of Arcade1Up’s Legacy Classics line and was designed to offer a more authentic at-home arcade experience.
“We are continually striving to modernize classic arcade-style games at a price and size that is suited for the home,” said Arcade1Up CEO, Scott Bachrach. “The Deluxe line offers a premium experience that we hope will both transport fans back in the day and introduce new players to the magic of these iconic games.”
The Deluxe arcade machines will feature licensed Bandai Namco Entertainment franchises such as PAC-MAN, Mortal Kombat, and Class of ’81. The PAC-MAN Deluxe edition and the Mortal Kombat Deluxe edition both include fourteen games, while the Class of ’81 Deluxe edition includes 12 games.
“After over 40 years, we are excited that classic titles like PAC-MAN and Class of ‘81 and others continue to be enjoyed by fans,” said Bandai Namco America’s Susan Tran. “Arcade1Up’s new Deluxe line is continuing the love for these nostalgic games, allowing new and old players to experience the most iconic old school games of all time.”
A subsidiary of the Bandai Namco Group, Bandai Namco Entertainment America is an interactive entertainment company that publishes and develops video games for multiple platforms.
Coinciding with the launch, Arcade1Up has released a companion app for its arcade consoles on the App Store and Google Play. The Arcade1Up companion app allows users to track online leaderboards, connect with friends for online play, register for extended warranties and more.
The Deluxe Edition consoles are currently available for purchase through Best Buy and the official Arcade1up website.
