The luxury menswear brand Larusmiani has partnered with MGM on a capsule collection inspired by the Pink Panther films.
The tailoring and clothing brand Larusmiani was founded in 1922 and features handmade clothing and accessories by expert Italian artisans using natural materials. The recently released Pink Panther collection is Larusmiani’s first character collaboration in its nearly 100-year history.
The partnership also marks MGM’s first expansion into luxury men’s goods, with the licensing team having plans to further expand the category in the future.
MGM’s long-standing character, Pink Panther, was first depicted in the front and end credits of the detective series of the same name more than 50 years ago. It has since expanded into TV series, specials, comics and merchandise.
“I’m excited to launch the Pink Panther capsule collection, which perfectly embodies the spirit and culture of Larusmiani,” said Guglielmo Miani, CEO and President of Larusmiani. “Since I was a child, I enjoyed the adventures of the Pink Panther and of Inspector Clouseau, always purveying an ironic and positive message.”
The collection features items such as a cashmere crew neck sweater, a velvet Friulana shoe, a lockable watch case made of lacquered sycamore, and a foldable backgammon set made with deerskin, suede and napa leather.
The capsule collection makes use of the new Pink Panther Pink color by Pantone in the accessories and clothing. The garments have embroidered or printed images of the Pink Panther character, while the Gentlemen’s Essentials section has images of the character that are hand painted or engraved.
“Larusmiani is known for its stylish and sophisticated lines for gentlemen, making the collaboration a perfect fit for Pink Panther,” said Robert Marick, Executive Vice President of Global Consumer Products and Experiences. “We are sure that fans of both will appreciate the craftmanship and seeing these two, beloved icons, come together.”
To support the collection’s release, the Milan boutique will feature special signage and décor in the store, as well as a display of the clothing and accessories in the store windows.
