Chicken of the Sea and McCormick Launch Flavorful Tuna Packages

January 14, 2025

By Allison Watkinson

Chicken of the Sea has partnered with Old Bay and McCormick to add two new varieties to its Wild Caught Light Tuna packets.

The licensed Chicken of the Sea Light Tuna packets are designed to offer new flavor options for fans of the company’s existing collection of on-the-go seafood products.

The new additions to the Chicken of the Sea line-up are flavored with McCormick’s Chili Lime seasoning mix and the Old Bay brand’s classic spice blend.

“At Chicken of the Sea, we’re always exploring ways to expand our seafood offerings with innovative flavors that elevate meal and snack time without compromise,” said Chicken of the Sea director, Griffin Raasch. “That’s why we’re thrilled to bring Old Bay and Chicken of the Sea together to create this exciting new item. And the flavor doesn’t stop there!”

First released in 1939, Old Bay is a popular seasoning mix that is used to flavor dishes such as seafood, hamburgers, chicken, pizza, pasta, vegetables and more.

Acquired by McCormick & Company in 1990, Old Bay’s original seasoning recipe features a blend of spices that includes celery salt, paprika, laurel leaves, mustard, cardamom, black pepper and more.

“After successfully launching our on-the-go packet line in 2023 with flavors like Lemon Garlic, Dill Tuna Salad and Sweet & Spicy, we’re excited to continue our partnership with the flavor experts at McCormick to add another unique flavor to our on-the-go packet lineup, Chili Lime,” said Raasch. “We aim to be a true one-stop shop for flavor and nutrition by listening to our fans and providing them with delicious and versatile solutions that fuel their busy lifestyles.”

McCormick & Company is a US-based business that specializes in manufacturing, marketing and distributing a wide range of seasonings, condiments and spices for the food industry.

The company’s brands are currently distributed to a network of retailers, manufacturers and food-service partners across more than 170 countries worldwide.

Chicken of the Sea is a long-standing seafood company that offers a wide portfolio of prepared foods including tuna, salmon, clams, crab, oysters, mackerel and sardines.
