Construction Zone: Spin Master Announces Production on Paw Patrol III

September 27, 2023

Hit Series Also Reveals Two New Licensing Deals with Hasbro’s Monopoly and Burger King

The second Paw Patrol isn’t even out yet and Spin Master has confirmed there will be a third film in the series.

Spin Master has announced that it will co-produce the Paw Patrol threequel with its partners Nickelodeon Movies and Paramount Pictures for theatrical release in 2026. The film will be distributed in Canada by Elevation Pictures.

Spin Master is making the announcement as it celebrates PAW Patrol’s 10-year anniversary on the heels of the soon to be released second movie, PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie, premiering in theatres Sept. 29.

“PAW Patrol has entertained generations of preschoolers while subtly teaching them the value of community, inclusiveness and teamwork,” said Jennifer Dodge, Spin Master Entertainment’s President. “On the cusp of the premiere of our second, super-powered film, the universal love for our pups is stronger than ever. We’re thrilled to announce a third feature film, expanding the PAW Patrol universe further with an epic new adventure. Featuring action-packed missions and exploring new terrain, this movie will be larger-than-life and once again show how small paws can make big prints.”

Who’s News: Round-up of Licensing Appointments

The film will feature a star-studded cast that includes Taraji P. Henson, Kristen Bell, Christian Convery, Brice Gonzalez, Mckenna Grace, Lil Rel Howery, Alan Kim, Finn Lee-Epp, James Marsden, Chris Rock, Serena Williams, North West and Saint West, alongside returning cast from the first movie, including Kim Kardashian, Marsai Martin and Ron Pardo. Of course, the existing voice cast members from the preschool series will also star in the upcoming film.

Also on Sept. 29, Spin Master’s founders Ronnen Harary, Anton Rabie and Ben Varadi are being inducted into the Toy Industry Hall of Fame at the Toy Foundation’s Awards gala.

The first feature film for the franchise, PAW Patrol: The Movie was released by Paramount Pictures globally and by Elevation Pictures in Canada in August 2021, grossing over $40 million domestically and more than $144 million worldwide.

“PAW Patrol remains in a class of its own as a beloved and recognizable cultural touchstone for kids and families everywhere,” said Ramsey Naito, President of Paramount Animation & Nickelodeon Animation.  “Alongside our partners at Spin Master, we are so excited to continue to bring these pups’ big screen adventures to PAW Patrol’s legion of fans around the world.”

The announcement doesn’t come as a complete surprise, despite the fact it comes before the second movie is even released, as Paw Patrol has been a reliable success both on television and in theatres.

One of the most successful series in kids television globally, Paw Patrol is now in its 10th season and still ranks as one of the top series for preschool and kids aged six to 11.

It’s also one of the most successful children’s series when it comes to licensing and product development, and this week Spin Master and partners revealed two new deals based on PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie.

The first involves board game publisher Usaopoly (The Op), which has launched two new, pup-tastic versions of classic kids games MONOPOLY JUNIOR: PAW Patrol Edition and GUESS WHO?: PAW Patrol, both under license by Hasbro and Paramount Consumer Products.

Just in time for "Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie," hitting theaters on September 29th, kids and families can now officially join their favorite rescue dogs as they em-bark on new tabletop adventures
Just in time for “Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie,” hitting theaters on September 29th, kids and families can now officially join their favorite rescue dogs as they em-bark on new tabletop adventures.

In MONOPOLY JUNIOR: PAW Patrol Edition, kids will journey through Adventure Bay with their favorite heroes from the show, Chase, Marshall, Skye, and Rubble, represented by four themed tokens. Designed for two to four players, ages five and up, the game includes favorite locations from the hit series, from The Beach and The Pup Park to The Lookout Tower and provides 24 Mission cards to give players special adventures to complete as they travel the board.

“As one of the most popular and long-standing preschool series in the world, we’re thrilled to have the opportunity to introduce such classic games to a whole new generation with our new PAW Patroleditions of both MONOPOLY JUNIOR and GUESS WHO?,” said Dane Chapin, CEO of The Op. “With a new movie release in just a few days and the series in its tenth year, it’s the perfect timing to provide young fans with a brand-new way to go on adventures with their favorite characters.”

GUESS WHO?: PAW Patrol was created for two players, ages six and up, and includes one deck of mystery cards and 48 Face Cards. Played by traditional GUESS WHO? rules, each player will choose a mystery character and take turns using yes or no questions to guess the other player’s mystery character. The first to guess correctly wins!

Burger King is also teaming up with the PAW Patrol gang on a line of limited-edition King Jr. Meal toys in honor of the upcoming theatrical release.

Available at participating restaurants nationwide while supplies last, the exclusive line of  PAW Patrol  kids’ toys feature six collectibles inspired by characters from the hit franchise – Rubble, Liberty, Rocky, Chase, Marshall and Skye. Each individual toy features a distinctive interactive element that draws inspiration from the unique attributes and abilities of the character they’re based on.

“When Burger King received the call from ‘The Pup-Pad’ to collaborate with Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon in celebration of the new  PAW Patrol  movie, we immediately jumped on the case to create a line of collectable King Jr. toys that we knew both our junior BK fans and their ‘pawrents’ would love,” says Pat O’Toole, chief marketing officer, Burger King North America. “This collaboration is the perfect way for families to celebrate the film while having it their way at Burger King.”
