Who’s News: Dr. Seuss Bolsters Licensing Leadership with Strategic Promotions

December 10, 2024

TLL Staff

Dr. Seuss Enterprises has announced the promotions of Jimeka Broussard to Director of Licensing, North America and Jenna Marson to Director of Licensing, International Markets.

The company says these leadership appointments reflect the company’s commitment to accelerating its licensing efforts both domestically and internationally as it seeks to expand its global market presence.

The promotions come at a pivotal time for Dr. Seuss Enterprises, which continues to capitalize on the enduring popularity of its iconic brand while fostering innovative partnerships across multiple sectors. Broussard and Marson will collaborate with Ellie Terveen, VP of Operations, to develop a unified licensing strategy aimed at enhancing retail opportunities and delivering educational, high-quality products that remain true to the Dr. Seuss legacy.

A Proven Domestic Strategy Under Jimeka Broussard

Jimeka Broussard.

Since joining Dr. Seuss Enterprises nearly three years ago, Broussard has proven to be a driving force behind the company’s North American licensing success. Her strategic leadership has propelled domestic licensing revenue to record highs, with standout contributions in key sectors like Apparel & Accessories, Toys & Games, and Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG). Broussard also expanded the brand’s reach into emerging categories, including Food & Beverage, leading to collaborations with notable partners such as General Mills, Krispy Kreme, Uber Eats, Supreme, and Justice.

In her new role, Broussard will lead the Licensing & Sales team across the U.S. and Canada, further building on the company’s retail strategy and deepening its partnerships.

“Stepping into this new role is an exciting opportunity to elevate our licensing efforts across North America,” Broussard said. “I’m passionate about introducing innovative products that resonate with audiences while maintaining the creativity and values that define the Dr. Seuss brand.”

Jenna Marson to Spearhead International Growth

With nine years of experience at Dr. Seuss Enterprises, Marson brings deep expertise across marketing, publishing, and licensing to her new position. As Director of Licensing, International Markets, she will oversee operations outside North America, spearheading the brand’s global growth strategy.

Marson has already achieved substantial results, expanding the licensee base across Europe and leading direct deals in markets like Spain, Italy, France, the Netherlands, and Denmark. She was also instrumental in introducing Dr. Seuss to Latin America, and plans to lead the company’s entry into the Asia-Pacific region in 2025.

“Leading our international licensing division is an exciting endeavor,” Marson said. “To be successful, you need to understand how a brand resonates across cultures. By building on our strong relationships and tapping into unique regional opportunities, we’ll create enriching experiences for fans worldwide.”

Under the leadership of Susan Brandt, President and CEO of Dr. Seuss Enterprises, the company says it remains focused on expanding its licensing programs globally while staying true to the brand’s educational and entertainment values.

“Jimeka Broussard and Jenna Marson have both been instrumental in driving Dr. Seuss Enterprises’ licensing strategy,” Brandt said. “Their industry expertise, commitment to innovation, and dedication to preserving the integrity of the Dr. Seuss brand make them invaluable leaders as we continue to grow.”
