Fortnite Getting Some ‘Epic’ Gaming Accessories From PowerA

February 20, 2024

Epic Games has secured a licensing partnership with PowerA for new Fortnite-inspired video game accessories.

PowerA is a global interactive technology company that specializes in designing and manufacturing officially licensed gaming accessories.

The company’s product portfolio includes a wide variety of gaming controllers, cases, starter kits, and more.

“With over 500 million registered accounts worldwide and growing, it’s no secret that Fortnite remains a top game on all platforms,” said PowerA director, Akio Strasser. “The PowerA x Fortnite collection embodies an exciting fusion of innovation, design, and the captivating universe of Fortnite. As Epic Games’ partner for this venture, we are thrilled to unveil an exceptional range of gaming accessories poised to enhance the gaming journey for fans across the globe.”

The first Epic Games x PowerA collection will include a range of products for Nintendo Switch and Xbox Series X|S with designs that feature the Fortnite characters, Peely and Midas.

Each product in the PowerA x Fortnite collection includes a bonus redemption code for an in-game Fortnite cosmetic.

Focusing on the licensed Peely character, the Nintendo Switch gaming accessories feature the Nana Nana Fortnite logo, Peely character accents and a bright yellow color scheme. The co-branded Nintendo Switch products include an enhanced wireless controller, a protection case and wired earbuds.

The PowerA wireless Nintendo Switch controller includes a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that offers around 30 hours of power per charge.

The Peely-themed Nintendo protection case features a felt lined molded interior, a mesh storage compartment and a custom Peely zipper pull. The case is designed to fit the classic Nintendo Switch, the Nintendo Switch Lite, and the Nintendo Switch – OLED Model.

The licensed Fortnite wired earbuds will be the first in a new line of PowerA audio products that include an ergonomic design, swappable silicone ear tips, a protective pouch and a built-in gaming mic.

The digital Fortnite cosmetics included with the Nintendo Switch products are a Prickly Axe Pickaxe for the wireless controller, a Rocket Rodeo Emote for the protection console case and an It’s Complicated Emote for the wired earbuds.

The Xbox Series X|S gaming console will get an exclusive Advantage Wired Controller that is inspired by the Midas Fortnite character. The Midas Xbox Series X|S controller design features a black and gold color palette and a mix of patterns and high-impact graphics inspired by the Fornite character. The design is outfitted on PowerA’s recently-released Advantage Wired Controller model for Xbox that is equipped with dual rumble motors, three-way trigger locks for precision, and two mappable gaming buttons.

The licensed Xbox Series X|S wired controller will be sold with the Storm King Fist Pickaxe as its bonus in-game Fortnite cosmetic.

The Epic Games x PowerA product collection is available for purchase or preorder in the United States through the official PowerA website, Amazon and GameStop. The licensed products will also be available through other major retailers across North America, Europe, Asia, Australia, and Latin America.

The partnership between Epic Games and PowerA was brokered by the global company, IMG.
