Legendary and Mondo Celebrate the Monsterverse with Exclusive Collection

December 2, 2024

By Allison Watkinson

TLL Reporter

Legendary Entertainment and Mondo have created an exclusive Monsterverse collection to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the cinematic action-adventure franchise.

The licensing collaboration will offer fans a slate of limited-edition products inspired by Monsterverse films including Godzilla (2014), Kong: Skull Island (2017), Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019) and Godzilla vs. Kong (2021).

“The Monsterverse is one of the most iconic and beloved franchises in modern cinema,” said Mondo SCD, Hector Arce. “It’s an honor to work alongside Legendary to bring fans a collection that reflects the scope, beauty, and power of these creatures—we’re creating something exceptional that we think fans will love.”

The exclusive anniversary collection includes a range of collectible figures, soundtracks and artwork inspired by the creatures and themes found in the Monsterverse franchise.

Mondo worked alongside several talented artists and designers from within the collectible space to produce the exclusive Monsterverse collection.

The Mondo x Legendary product line features a set of two massive Godzilla x Kong: New Empire figures that are crafted from glitter-infused soft vinyl.

Inspired by 20th-century Japanese sofubi, the Godzilla and Kong vinyl figures include swivel-articulated action, detailed sculpting and premium Hollow Earth-inspired colorway variants.

For the music category, the collection offers a special-edition LP that features the soundtrack for the Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Apple TV+ Original Series by critically-acclaimed composer Leopold Ross.

The Monarch: Legacy of Monsters is a 140-gram vinyl LP that is encased in spot gloss gatefold sleeves decorated with Monsterverse art by Owen Freeman.

The final item in the collection is a Monsterverse poster that features 10th anniversary artwork by Danny Haas that showcases all of the titans and monsters from Hollow Earth in one full-color image.

“Reaching the 10th anniversary of the Monsterverse is a truly exciting moment for Legendary, and we’re thrilled to join forces with Mondo to celebrate it in such an artfully crafted way,” said Legendary CCME, Barnaby Legg. “Mondo has been amazing creative partners ever since our first Godzilla film in 2014, so it feels only fitting to celebrate 10 epic years with them,” added Legg. “Their renowned expertise in crafting exceptional pop culture products perfectly aligns with the essence of the Monsterverse, and this collaboration offers fans a great opportunity to celebrate their favorite Titans through meticulously designed, high-quality items that honor these iconic legends.”

Legendary Entertainment is a multi-media entertainment company that owns, produces and distributes content across film, TV, comics and digital media.

A subsidiary of Funko, Mondo is a pop-culture collectibles company that is best known for creating limited-edition posters, vinyl soundtracks, premium art and collectibles based on licensed properties and original IPs.
