Pandora has launched a licensed jewelry collection based on Disney’s live-action film, The Little Mermaid.
Pandora is a global jewelry brand that specializes in creating hand-finished jewelry using high-quality materials.
Each piece for the co-branded collection features Pandora’s signature solid sterling silver or 14K gold plating style with additional design details such as man-made pearls, cubic zirconia, and colored lacquers.
The collection includes seven distinct jewelry designs that include charms, earrings, and rings inspired by the Disney characters Ariel, Sebastian, and Ursula.
“We wanted to be true to the live action film as well as give the pieces a more naturalistic representation,” said Pandora SVP, Francesco Terzo. “With the Sebastian charm, for example, one claw is bigger than the other, just like real male crabs. And Ursula is such an iconic character in The Little Mermaid. We chose to amplify and at the same time simplify her representation, choosing a deep purple lacquered artificial pearl to finish the piece.”
The live-action Little Mermaid feature film is a reboot of Disney’s original The Little Mermaid animated musical from 1989. Directed by Rob Marshall and starring Halle Bailey, The Little Mermaid debuted in theaters across the U.S. on May 26, 2023.
The licensed Little Mermaid jewelry collection was officially released at Pandora’s stores and e-commerce website on May 25, 2023, just prior to the theatrical launch of the live-action feature film.
