Sports Licensing: Nascar’s New Snugible Redefines ‘Fast Fashion’

November 14, 2022

When you’re watching race cars roar around the track 200 times, you want to be extra comfy.

That’s why NASCAR has partnered on an officially licensed Snugible that will be added to Orange Onions’ product line form Plushible.
Snugibles are a unique two-in-one wearable blanket/hoodie, that can also roll up into its hood and zips up to create a decorative throw pillow.

“This product is wearable, storable, and can be used as a delightful decoration,” the partners said in a joint release. “The NASCAR Snugible will feature the NASCAR logo and branding with custom embroidery to guarantee the ultimate racing experience in the most comfortable way possible.”

Orange Onions produces a range of licensed Snugibles, which is one of the plush lines produced under the Plushibles brand. Licenses for Snugibles include Clifford the Big Red Dog, Thomas the Tank Engine and NASA, among others.

For NASCAR, the collaboration just made sense for its fans, as the ultra comfortable Snugibles are being transformed to resemble the racing suits and helmets worn by NASCAR drivers (see photo at top).

For their part, Orange Onions and Plushible hope to reach the association’s massive auto-racing fan base through this collaboration.

“NASCAR is a part of American culture,” said Dovi Kutoff, CEO of Orange Onions, “We are thrilled to add them to our lineup of the recognizable, household brands of our Snugibles and believe they will blend in seamlessly with the collection.”

The National Association for Stock Car Racing is major licensor in the US and globally, and has been among the world’s largest racing associations since it was founded in 1948. It is the sanctioning body for NASCAR, which is the most popular motor sport in the United States, and it also owns 16 of the country’s major motorsports entertainment facilities.
