The Teddy Fresh fashion brand has announced a new licensing collaboration with the fantasy gaming franchise Magic: The Gathering.
Magic The Gathering is a long-standing fantasy entertainment franchise that provides multi-media content through tabletop trading card games, licensed consumer goods, digital games, novels, comic books, and more.
The license for the Magic: The Gathering franchise is represented by Wizards of the Coast, a division of global toy company Hasbro Inc.
The Teddy Fresh x Magic The Gathering apparel collection features graphics and prints that are inspired by officially licensed artwork from Magic: The Gathering trading cards.
The licensed artwork includes characters and iconography from the fantasy franchise that resonate with members of Teddy Fresh’s creative design team.
Key pieces featured in the collection include a cardigan and hat with the Magic: The Gathering Mana symbol combined with the Teddy Fresh bear logo, a corduroy jacket with one-color digital print graphics, a plaid-lined patch jacket made with cotton sateen fabric, and several t-shirts that feature graphics and prints from licensed Magic trading cards.
Some of the Magic-themed graphics and prints featured on the Teddy Fresh t-shirts include Serendib Efreet, Necro-Impotence, Surgical Extraction, Soulless One, Liliana of the Dark Realm, and Earl of Squirrel.
Founded by fashion designer and entrepeneur Hila Klein in 2017, Teddy Fresh is an LA-based streetwear and lifestyle brand that primarily creates licensed apparel through collaborations with both independent artists and larger corporate partners.
The brand’s new collaboration with Magic The Gathering is intended to highlight Teddy Fresh’s focus on creating artistic fashion for niche lifestyle demographics.
The Teddy Fresh x Magic The Gathering collection is scheduled to debut with an exclusive in-person release at the Complex Con event on Nov. 18 to 19, 2023. This will be followed by an online launch on ecommerce platforms the next day.
Acquired by Hasbro in 1999, Wizards of the Coast is a tabletop and digital gaming company that manages popular fantasy franchises such as Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons.
