Upper Deck has secured a multi-year license with TOP LEGENDS to produce currency-quality, value-note collectibles featuring Wayne Gretzky.
Upper Deck is a global entertainment company that specializes in trading cards, memorabilia, collectibles, games, and online platforms based on sports and entertainment properties.
The partnership with TOP LEGENDS was secured by Upper Deck’s exclusive global licensing agent, Brevettar.
“Working with TOP LEGENDS is an opportunity to create a premium-quality, limited-edition collectible for the millions of Wayne Gretzky fans worldwide,” said Upper Deck president, Jason Masherah. “As we continue to explore new ways to celebrate one of the greatest hockey players of all time, this collaboration holds immense promise.”
Wayne Gretsky is a former professional hockey player from Canada who holds numerous NHL records and contributed to four Stanley Cup championship wins. He was so dominant in the sport that fans refer to him simply as ‘The Great One’.
The TOP LEGENDS hockey-themed value-note collectibles are designed to look like a commemorative banknote and will feature highly detailed artistry, authentic design, and sophisticated safety features.
TOP LEGENDS plans to release a series of seven ice hockey value-notes over the next seven years. The Wayne Gretzky-themed value-notes are the first value-notes that will be released.
“We are very proud to collaborate with Upper Deck as we perceive this company as a safeguard of authenticity for all the products they make,” said TOP LEGENDS CEO, Radek Šulta. “For us, it is a major step to open the market of a very new commemorative line and experience for Gretzky fans to enjoy.”
Gretzky will serve as an ambassador and headliner for the new TOP LEGENDS x Upper Deck collectibles. As a TOP LEGENDS brand ambassador, Gretzky attended the official Value-Note Gala Launch live event in Las Vegas on June 28.
The Gala Launch event will be broadcasted live on the company’s YouTube channel.
The limited-edition release of Wayne Gretzky value-notes will be available on TopLegends.com and through select retailers in the rare coin and currency markets. Initial pricing for the Gretsky value-note collectibles are planned for over four hundred US dollars per note.
