Former Quantum Creative Studios CEO Kelly Easterling is taking on a key role at location based entertainment company Original X Productions.

Original X Productions (OGX) announced it has appointed Easterling as Vice President of Production and Operations. Easterling’s responsibilities will be to spearhead production design and operations management for a variety of OGX’s  location-based entertainment (LBE) properties.

Original X specializes in creating LBE experiences based on licensed IP, such as The FRIENDS Experience, The Office Experience and Harry Potter: Magic at Play.

“I am ecstatic about joining the Original X Productions team as the Vice President Production and Operations,” said Easterling. “Their creativity and attractions to date have been outstanding and I’m looking forward to helping introduce new projects that will delight fans in the months to come.”

The company says Easterling is taking on a pivotal role as he continues OGX’s vision in developing memorable IP-driven entertainment. His brief is to focus on bringing to life narratives for beloved brands, utilizing innovative design techniques to create immersive and profitable experiences that will captivate audiences across the globe.

“Kelly’s exceptional skills in design, production and storytelling will be an invaluable asset to Original X Productions,” said OGX CEO Stacy Moscatelli. “As we prepare to announce and launch new experiences, Kelly’s experience in developing and operating major IP based attractions worldwide will help elevate our work to new heights.”

Prior to joining the OGX team, Easterling served as the CEO of Quantum Creative Studios, a creative design and production firm in the themed entertainment and museum industries. His previous work can be seen at VinWonders in Phú Quốc, Vietnam where he produced and directed Once: An Enchanted Storybook Spectacular; multiple interactive attractions for Lionsgate Entertainment World in Zhuhai, China, and Princess Cruises where he designed effects and show lighting for the new musical The Secret Silk.

Additionally, Easterling worked on the design team for the Universal Studios Orlando attraction Race Through New York with Jimmy Fallon, the Smithsonian Institute’s National Museum of African American History and Culture, and the Barack Obama Presidential Center. Among his many projects, Easterling directed the nighttime spectacular Forever Cunard from the historic Queen Mary 2 that illuminated New York Harbor and lower Manhattan; and numerous nighttime spectaculars for Nickelodeon Universe at Mall of America and American Dream Mall.

Easterling honed his project management and production skills managing productions and venues of varying sizes. As the Technical Director for the City of Portland, Maine’s Merrill Auditorium, he hosted Broadway touring productions such as Saturday Night Fever, Miss Saigon, 42nd Street, Rent, and Stomp. He also supervised the installation and operation of various touring concerts including Josh Groban, Melissa Etheridge, Rob Thomas, Styxx, Jewel and many more. He served for five seasons as the Director of Production for the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, overseeing the production and operation of over 50 professional and touring theatrical productions. Easterling has been honored with a Themed Entertainment Association THEA Award for the Smithsonian Institute’s National Museum of African American History.
