Who’s News: Hasbro Announces Two Additions to C-Suite

April 20, 2022

By Allison Watkinson

TLL Reporter

Hasbro has announced two new promotions in the company’s C-suite as it grapples with supply chain issues.

Shane Azzi will join the company as Chief Global Supply Chain Officer and Matt Austin will assume the position of Chief Commercial Officer.

Both Azzi and Austin will report to Eric Nyman, Hasbro’s President and Chief Operating Officer.

“I’m very excited to appoint these two critical leadership positions at a time of tremendous opportunity for Hasbro’s business,” said Nyman. “With our focus on executing our strategy across high potential brands, our thriving gaming business, and our unique multi-generational entertainment and consumer direct capabilities, we are well positioned to deliver growth for years to come.

“Shane brings incredible global supply chain experience and will help us modernize and streamline Hasbro’s backend operations over the coming quarters, and Matt is a proven leader who understands the world-class commercial capabilities needed to drive our business forward,” Nyman added.

As Chief Global Supply Chain Officer, Azzi will work to position Hasbro’s supply chain as a competitive advantage. He will oversee global supply planning, global sourcing and procurement, logistics and fulfillment, quality assurance and security.

Azzi will join Hasbro in May following the retirement of Tom Courtney, Executive Vice President & Chief Global Operations Officer. Shane brings over 25 years of consumer packaged goods and supply chain experience to Hasbro. His experience is seen as a critical asset a time when supply chains have been bottle-necked due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Azzi’s expertise lies in leading large-scale end-to-end transformation at major global companies with a focus on sustainability, safety and consumer approval.

Azzi previously served as Chief Supply Chain Officer for Kimberly-Clark. In the past, he also served as Global Vice President of Supply Chain for Mars Incorporated. While at Mars Incorporated, he held leadership positions in the areas of logistics management, information technology, sales and operations planning, and procurement.

With his recent promotion to Chief Commercial Officer, Austin will work to leverage Hasbro’s commercial opportunities with data-driven consumer insights and strategic partnerships across a variety of channels. These channels include e-commerce and direct fan experiences.

Austin is known for driving sustainable growth across key regions for Hasbro’s global business. In his previous role leading Europe and Asia, Austin built a reputation for developing and empowering teams to achieve strategic priorities.

Austin assumes his new position following the retirement of the previous Chief Commercial Officer, Michael Hogg. A successor to Austin as President for Europe and Asia will be named in the coming months.
