Brands Taking A Deep Dive Into NFT Market

Forbidden Planet Releasing New Merch Based on Classic Paramount Films

Forbidden Planet, a pop culture product developer, has partnered with ViacomCBS to release new merchandise featuring several of Paramount Pictures classic films, including Forrest Gump, Top Gun, and the hilarious cult classic Galaxy Quest. Gift Retailer Moonpig Goes Big With LEGO

The British gift company Moonpig says it’s expanding its offering through a major deal with LEGO to make branded gifts available to its customers. The agreement marks the largest ever branding launch on the AI-powered e-commerce site, the company says. The new range of more than 50 different products with 13 different themes is already available through the Moonpig.com ecommerce site, and ranges from Duplo toddler sets to various licensed lines like Harry Potter, Marvel and Star Wars, to the architectural sets aimed at adults. Moonpig says it plans to increase its LEGO offerings later this year. Funko Ends Strong in Tough Year

The pop culture product company Funko released its fourth quarter results this week, showing a strong finish after a brutal year in which global sales were strongly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. While Funko’s profitability suffered mightily through most of the year, the company says its recovery in Q4 leads management to predict a dramatic turnaround in 2021, with an estimated 25 to 30 per cent growth over fiscal 2020. Funko closed out the year with a strong Q4 that saw U.S. sales soar by 18% and world sales increase by 6%, but due to a disastrous Q2 and Q3, Funko still ended up with an 18% sales revenue decrease for 2020, according to the company’s year-end financials.  Funko sales in Q4 were $226.5 million, up from $213.6 million for… . . . read more
