EA Announces Multiplatform, Global Expansion of FIFA Gaming Franchise

Electronic Arts’ partnership with FIFA has been incredibly lucrative for both parties, and now the EA SPORTS division is doubling down with a massive expansion of games based on their collaboration. EA announced this week the signing of a multiyear UEFA license extension, ensuring the pinnacle of club football remains exclusive to EA SPORTS. As well, EA is expanding football video game access through multiple in-development mobile offerings, and by broadening the PC free-to-download FIFA Online 4 title’s reach to potentially 80 million players in more than 15 new countries. LEGO Deal With SEGA Results in ‘Super Sonic’ Collection

Video gaming’s most iconic speedster is now coming to a box of LEGO near you, as LEGO Ideas announced it is releasing a line of products for Sonic the Hedgehog. Even more interesting, the partnership is happening because of a concept design submitted by a 24-year-old LEGO superfan in the UK, Viv Grannel. LEGO says Grannel, also a passionate Sonic fan, created her design as a submission to the LEGO Ideas platform, a LEGO initiative that takes new ideas that have been imagined and voted for by fans and turns them into reality. Grannel’s design was inspired by SEGA’s critically acclaimed 2017 platformer experience Sonic Mania, and features iconic characters and environments from the game’s Green Hill Zone level.  Once the design was completed, it achieved the prerequisite 10,000 votes from LEGO fans worldwide before being greenlit to go into production by the LEGO Group. Elie Saab Inks Global Licensing Deal With Brands Beyond Beauty

The luxury fashion brand Elie Saab has signed a long-term global licensing deal for its perfumes and cosmetics with Brands Beyond Beauty. Mattel Developing ‘Heist’ Movie Based on Uno Game

Toy giant Mattel has been putting a lot of oomph behind its popular UNO game for its 50th Anniversary, and is topping off the program with a live action motion picture. Mattel Films will produce the project alongside Grammy-nominated rapper Lil Yachty. In addition, Quality Control’s Kevin “Coach K” Lee, Pierre “P” Thomas and Brian Sher will produce for Quality Films. Marcy Kelly penned the screenplay for the action heist comedy, set in the underground hip hop world of Atlanta. IMG and World Rugby Seek Apparel Licensing Partner

World Rugby and its licensing agency IMG are on the hunt to find a global sports apparel suppliers for all World Rugby competitions up to 2024. For the first time, IMG says the chosen supplier will have access to all of the rights and assets for every one of World Rugby’s international meets, including the World Cup in 2021 and 2023. The most recent World Cup was held in Japan in 2019, and broke attendance and broadcast audience records. World Rugby says 1.8 million rugby fans attended the games in person, and more than 857 million people watched the action on TV.
