Burt’s Bees and Mike’s Hot Honey have teamed up to to launch a limited-edition lip balm that features the condiment brand’s distinct flavor.
Launched on May 29, the exclusive product is designed to bring the sweet and spicy flavor of Mike’s Hot Honey to Burt’s Bees moisturizing beeswax lip balm.
“I’m a long-time fan of Burt’s Bees lip balms and so this collaboration with such an iconic brand is very cool for us,” said Mike’s Hot Honey founder, Mike Kurtz. “This partnership to bring our sweet-heat flavor to life in a lip balm is an exciting, unexpected way for fans to experience the flavor they love — this time beyond the kitchen.”
Created in 2010 by Mike Kurtz, Mike’s Hot Honey is a condiment brand that uses 100% pure honey infused with real chili peppers.
Kurtz initially sold the condiment in small-batch, hand-labeled Hot Honey bottles to visitors of Paulie Gee’s pizzeria in Brooklyn, as well as other local restaurants and businesses.
Following massive word-of-mouth and viral success, Mike’s Hot Honey can now be found in thousands of restaurants and retailers throughout the U.S. and Canada.
“This summer we wanted to bring something playful and flavor-forward to our fans,” said Burt’s Bees general manager, Nick Higgins. “Mike’s Hot Honey has set the trend for swicy flavor everywhere, and together we’re delivering a bold flavor experience – with the moisturizing care you expect from Burt’s Bees.”
The limited-edition moisturizing lip balm will be available for purchase exclusively on Burt’s Bees dedicated e-commerce website and TikTok e-shop, while supplies last.
Debuted in 1984, Burt’s Bees is a skin care brand that is known for its natural ingredients, responsible sourcing, recyclable packaging and use of beeswax and honey.
The products offered by the brand are made without the use of animal testing, and are free from several additives includiing phthalates, parabens, petrolatum and sodium lauryl sulfate.
Since its initial launch, the Burt’s Bees brand has expanded its portfolio to include cosmetics, lotions, skin cleansers, toothpaste and licensed consumer products.
