August 16, 2024

By Allison Watkinson
TLL Reporter
Estée Lauder Companies has appointed Rashida La Lande as its new EVP and general counsel.
In her new roles at Estée Lauder, La Lande will be responsible for overseeing and advising on the company’s global business initiatives and complex legal issues.
This includes Estée Lauder’s international corporate protocols, compliance, business practices, risk mitigation, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, transactions and more.
La Lande will also be tasked with overseeing the Estée Lauder Companies’ global privacy office and security team.
“Rashida’s impressive experience acting as a key strategic partner to executive leadership teams and boards coupled with her sound judgment advising a publicly traded, values-driven business on legal matters makes her ideally suited for this role,” said
Estée Lauder Companies chairman, William P. Lauder.
La Lande brings more than 25 years of experience advising corporations, companies and private equity sponsors across the consumer products, retail, financial services, licensing and technology industries.
Prior to joining The Estee Lauder Companies, La Lande worked for the Kraft Heinz Company in corporate roles of increasing responsibility since first joining the company in 2018.
Most recently, La Lande served as Kraft Heinz’ global chief legal & corporate affairs officer and executive vice president.
Prior to her tenure at Kraft Heinz, La Lande was a partner at the Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher law firm.
“Rashida’s extensive experience managing legal matters across a diverse portfolio of iconic and new brands for one of the largest food and beverage companies in the world makes her uniquely qualified for this role,” said Estée Lauder Companies CEO, Fabrizio Freda. “Working closely with our board of directors, William, and me, Rashida will be a critical partner in driving ELC’s strategy for long-term sustainable, profitable growth, and bringing our brands and company to the next level.”
La Lande holds a BA in African American Studies from Harvard University and a Juris Doctor from the Columbia Law School in NYC.
ELC is a global company that manufactures, markets and distributes a wide variety of branded skin care, makeup, fragrance and hair care products.
The Estée Lauder Companies represents an extensive portfolio of international beauty brands such as Clinique, M·A·C, Bobbi Brown Cosmetics, La Mer, Too Faced, Lab Series, Estée Lauder, Aveda, Smashbox, Tom Ford, GlamGlow, Aerin Beauty and more.
The company’s products are available for purchase in approximately 150 countries and territories around the world.
