Kartoon Studios Celebrates Bee and Puppycat’s 10th Anniversary

July 31, 2023

Kartoon Studios is celebrating the 10th anniversary of Frederator Networks’ Bee and PuppyCat animated franchise with new music and licensed products.
Created by Natasha Allegri, Bee and Puppycat initially premiered as an animated pilot on Frederator Networks’ Cartoon Hangover YouTube channel back in 2013. The show was greenlit for a full season on YouTube following a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign.
The Bee and Puupycat franchise has since expanded to include an original Netflix series called Bee and PuppyCat: Lazy in Space, a comic book series by BOOM! Studios and numerous licensed consumer product partnerships.
“Frederator Studios is proud of the success of Bee and PuppyCat, which takes a prominent place among our lineup of hits that also includes Adventure Time, Castlevania and Fairly Odd Parents,” said WOW! Unlimited Media CEO, Michael Hirsh. “Natasha Allegri is an amazing artist who has created and directed one of the best animated series of our time.”
As part of the 10th anniversary celebration, Kartoon Studios and Sony released a two-volume digital music album for the Bee and Puppycat: Lazy in Space Netflix series.
Launched on July 14, 2023, the digital album includes 30 tracks from the Bee and Puppycat: Lazy in Space soundtrack by composer Will Wiesenfeld.
In addition, Kartoon Studios has expanded their partnerships with Hot Topic, Crowdmade, Youtooz and Toynk with new limited-edition Bee and PuppyCat products.
Hot Topic is expanding their existing Bee and Puppycat apparel line to include limited-edition accessories, buttons, jewelry and more.
Crowdmade has launched new Bee and Puppycat apparel, accessories, posters, and more.
Youtooz is releasing new limited-edition Bee and Puppycat collectible figures.
Toynk has developing a collection of accessories and collectibles for the franchise.
“The amazing response to the album release and limited-edition products speaks to the growing popularity of this fun and quirky series that has found a broad and solid fan base over the past 10 years,” said Kartoon Studios consultant, Karen McTier. “As we continue to celebrate this brand milestone, we look forward to working with our partners to deliver unique products to the market as well as expand our merchandise categories into publishing, home, gaming, and stationery.”
Additional licensed Bee and Puppycat products by Trends International, BOOM! Studios, and Toy Factory are scheduled for release throughout 2023 and 2024.
Kartoon Studios is a global company that creates, produces, distributes, markets, and licenses entertainment brands.
The company’s wholly-owned digital distribution network, Toon Media Group, includes Frederator Network, Kartoon Channel!, Ameba and Kartoon Channel! Worldwide.
Kartoon Studios’ consumer products team manages the worldwide consumer products program for Bee and PuppyCat, excluding Asia, which is handled by TOHO International.
