The LEGO Group and WBDGCP have announced a licensed build set featuring Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory.
Based on the 1971 film, the set includes nine officially licensed mini-figure characters from Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory.
The featured characters include Charlie Bucket, Grandpa Joe, Augustus Gloop, Mike Teavee, Veruca Salt, Violet Beauregarde, two Oompa Loompas and Willy Wonka himself.
This build also includes details such as a motorized chocolate waterfall, a Wonkatania boat, Willy Wonka’s office with a secret door and the Oompa Loompas’ work area.
Additional features of the set include a candy cane trees, lollipop plants and a chocolate-covered face option for the Augustus Gloop minifigure.
The intricate model set was created by fan designers, Roberto Ceruti and Jody Padulano, as part of the toy company’s LEGO Ideas programme.
LEGO Ideas allows fan designers to submit suggested sets, which are then voted for by the brand’s online community before being made into a real LEGO set by the company.
“Our inspiration came from the nostalgia and innocence of Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory – it simply had to become a LEGO set.” said Ceruti and Padulabo. “The build took about four to five months, starting with the iconic movie scene. Thanks to new LEGO pieces, we could update the design and overcome challenges like perfecting the bridge and balancing the candy tree’s look. Adding a motorised waterfall made the set truly special.”
The Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, Classic Movie set is scheduled to launch for LEGO Insiders Early Access on September 15.
This wil be followed by its full retail launch on September 18, 2025.
