Limited Edition Magikarp Jewelry Makes a Splash for the New Year

January 3, 2023

By Allison Watkinson
TLL Reporter
The jewelry brand U-Treasure has developed Pink Gold versions of its Magikarp necklace as part of its ongoing licensing collaboration with The Pokémon Company.
The Pokémon Company was created by the video game developers Nintendo, Creatures, and Game Freak to handle the brand management, marketing, and licensing of the jointly-owned Pokémon franchise.
Initially created as a hand-held video game in 1996, the Pokémon franchise has grown into an international multi-media franchise that includes films, animated series, books, trading cards, licensed merchandise, video games, and more.
U-Treasure specializes in creating high-quality jewelry based on video games and anime series. The U-Treasure brand is owned by the Japanese custom jewelry company, K-Uno.
U-Treasure’s reworked Magikarp necklaces are offered in Sterling Silver with a Pink Gold coating and in eighteen-karat Pink Gold. Each version of the necklace is limited to 129 pieces to match the Magikarp’s Pokedex registration number.
Through an official licensing agreement with The Pokemon Company, U-Treasure has been creating made-to-order Pokemon-themed jewelry since 2016. The brand has created more than seventy different limited-edition products for the Pokemon brand thus far.
The re-designed Pink Gold Magikarp necklaces are based on a previously released design that was created using traditional Gold. The traditional Gold version of the Magikarp necklace was released for a limited time in 2020.
Both versions of the Pink Gold Magikarp necklace are available for pre-order world-wide until January 31, 2023 or until supplies last.
