Mattel Creations and Universal Pictures are launching new Hot Wheels collectibles based on Back to the Future and Jaws.
Set to debut at San Diego Comic-Con 2025, the licensed collection will commemorate the 40th anniversary of Back to the Future and the 50th anniversary of Jaws.
“These movies have left an indelible mark on pop culture,” said Mattel SVP, Nick Karamanos. “We worked closely with our creative teams to make sure every detail celebrates the spirit of these iconic moments. It is magical to watch our fans connect with the stories they grew up with and we’re proud to bring that magic to life through our collectibles.”
For the Back To The Future film, Hot Wheels is releasing a limited-edition set that includes detailed die-cast vehicles and a cinematic diorama. Packaged in an elaborate display box, the Hot Wheels diarama showcases the scene from Back To The Future that introduces the film franchise’s modified DeLorean Time Machine.
For Steven Spielberg’s Jaws, Hot Wheels has developed a vintage 1970s style collectible inspired by the movie’s well-known ‘you’re gonna need a bigger boat’ scene.
With display packaging that matches the texture of open water, the Hot Wheels x Jaws collectible includes unique die-cast depictions of the shark and the boat from the classic film.
The licensed products can be viewed at Mattel’s booth (#3029) and purchased through its official merchandise booth (#2945) during San Diego Comic-Con.
Located at the San Diego Convention Center, this year’s San Diego Comic-Con event will take place from July 24 to July 27, 2025.
