Wrangler and Hot Wheels Speed Into Streetwear Partnership

August 21, 2024

By Allison Watkinson
TLL Reporter
Mattel has launched a new partnership with the Wrangler apparel brand for a licensed streetwear collection inspired by Hot Wheels.
Owned by Kontoor Brands, Wrangler is a US-based lifestyle and apparel brand that offers durable clothing collections inspired by cowboys and horse wranglers from western America.
The Wrangler x Hot Wheels collection includes a range of denim jackets, coveralls, and graphic t-shirts in both adult and children’s sizes, as well as a limited-edition die-cast miniature of a 1985 Ford Bronco featuring elements from the Wrangler brand.
“Partnering with Hot Wheels has been a collision of heritage and horsepower,” said Kontoor VP, Holly Wheeler. “Tapping into the resurgence of motorsport and inspired by the classic American iconography and nostalgia of both brands, Wrangler x Hot Wheels hits the market at full speed and ignites a beloved pastime shared from generation to generation.”
Launched in 1968 by Mattel, Hot Wheels is a global  toy and collectibles brand that offers an extensive collection of scale-model cars and racing tracks for both children and adult automobile enthusiasts.
The Wrangler x Hot Wheels apparel line is available for purchase online through Wrangler’s offcial e-commerce website, as well as at select department stores, mass-market retailers, western outfitters and specialty shops around the world.
The licensing partnership between Wrangler and Hot Wheels follows on the heels of Mattel and Wrangler’s previous 2023 collaboration for the Barbie franchise.
