SmashSwing Immersive has partnered with Atari to develop two golfing simulators based on the company’s Asteroids and Centipede arcade gaming properties.
The licensed SmashSwing gaming simulators will bring elements from the two long-standing arcade properties to library library of sports-inspired interactive entertainment.
This will allow the company’s venue partners to access the licensed Asteroids and Centipede experiences through their proprietary tech.
SmashSwing Immersive specializes in developing and delivering high-tech simulations and interactive experiences based on sports and gaming brands.
The company uses cinematic sized screens to create multi-player gaming technology that can be installed at a variety of venues.
Target venues for SmashSwing’s experiential equipment include golf courses, driving ranges, movie theaters, hotels, resorts, cruise ships, family entertainment centers and competitive socializing events.
The first installations for SmashSwing are scheduled to take place in late summer in areas of Canada, Europe and New York.
“Asteroids and Centipede will bring a new level of excitement to our giant cinematic screen sizes with multi-player gaming technology,” said SmashSwing CEO, TJ Schier. “These licensed IP brands are the first of many that will allow us to deliver a steady stream of games and tap into iconic, ardent fan bases to drive players into our venues,” said Schier. “These collaborations will elevate the user experience and drive repeat visits to SmashSwing locations.”
The licensing partnership between the two companies was negotiated by Atari’s official licensing representative, Beanstalk.
