Alamance Foods and American Licorice Company have launched a partnership to develop FunPops treats with licensed flavors from Sour Punch candy.
Scheduled to debut this summer, the first products offered in the co-branded FunPops line will feature Sour Punch flavors like Tropical Citrus Surf, Kiwi Lagoon and Peachy Paradise.
The licensed collection is designed to bring the long-standing sour candy brand to the frozen aisle with a range of FunPops freeze pops.
“We are thrilled up to welcome Alamance Foods and their well-known FunPops products into the American Licorice Company’s licensing program,” said American Licorice product manager, Wendy Dattilo.
Debuted in 1990 by the American Licorice Company, Sour Punch is a candy straw brand that offers intense and sour fruity flavors.
This partnership marks Alamance’s first foray into the licensing industry for the FunPops treat brand.
“We are excited to partner with the American Licorice and Sour Punch in FunPops first entry into the world of licensed products,” said Alamance president, Nick Wong. “Our teams have been working hard to deliver flavored FunPops which are consistent with the quality and taste that fans of Sour Punch and sour candy will love.”
First founded in 1914, American Licorice Company is a manufacturing and distribution company that specializes in candy and confectionary products.
Alamance Foods is a family-owned company that manufactures and distributes food and beverage products through its portfolio of signature brands.
First launched in 1927, the company’s portfolio includes well-known brands such as Classic Cream, Whipt, FunPops, Coffee Toppers Cold Foam and more.
The partnership between the two companies was brokered by Perpetual Licensing on behalf of American Licorice and Blitz Licensing for Alamance Foods.
