The licensed product manufacturer Trends International has acquired the ecommerce platforms Art.com and Allposters.com.
Founded in 1998, Art and its sister website Allposters are direct-to-consumer, online retail platforms that specialize in art and décor products. Art’s content library contains over two million images that can be purchased as posters, prints, and more.
“AllPosters has been selling Trends posters since its inception, and we believe the combined entity will create deeper value for both sides, while enabling a great home for authentic content,” said Trends CEO, Bruce Morrison.
Trends International is a publishing and manufacturing company that specializes in licensed posters, calendars, stickers and stationery products. Since the company was established in 1987, its reach has expanded to more 10,000 retail locations across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. In addition, Trends has developed a marketplace presence on several ecommerce sites, including print-on-demand and fulfillment facilities in the U.S. and Canada.
“Art and AllPosters’ expertise in several areas that are different but complimentary to Trends will enhance our ability to be a one-stop décor solution for our licensed partners,” said Trends SVP, Jeff Loeser.
“We want to be able to offer them retail, online marketplace, and direct-to-consumer options on a collective suite of materials.”
The acquisition of Art.com and its sister site, Allposters.com includes the IP, library, tradename, and the company’s base of operations in Ohio, which includes the staff and management.
