Xilam Animation has announced the development of a new licensing program and broadcast partnerships for its animated preschool series, Piggy Builders.
France TV Distribution has been appointed as the licensing representative for Piggy Builders across France, Belgium and Switzerland.
The program will focus on building a range of licensed merchandise for Piggy Builders across major retail categories like toys, plush, apparel and publishing.
A complete style guide is already available to help future licensees in developing cohesive product collections for the preschool entertainment brand.
Xilam Animation is scheduled to exhibit the Piggy Builders property during Brand Licensing Europe at booth A130.
The broadcasting rights to the Piggy Builders series have also now been sold to VRT Ketnet, Téléquebec, YLE, Warner Bros. Discovery, RTS and SVT.
“Since introducing Piggy Builders to the international market, the response across the board has been fantastic – firstly with BBC, France Télévisions and ZDF jointly boarding the series, and now welcoming a range of additional leading broadcasters into the fold,” said Xilam Animation EVP, Safaa Benazzouz. “We’re very much looking forward to seeing our little piggies entertain young audiences and their families around the world, through their humorous adventures and charming stories of teamwork.”
The Piggy Builders series is directed by Romain Villemaine and was originally commissioned by the BBC, France Télévisions and ZDF.
Further territories are expected to launch the series in the coming weeks.
Piggy Builders follows three pig siblings named Cornelia, Cesar and Charlie with a passion for building, problem-solving and being active. .
Founded in France in 1999, Xilam is an integrated animation studio that creates, produces and distributes original programmes in more than 190 countries worldwide.
Xilam’s content is currently broadcast on television, as well as on SVoD platforms including Netflix, Disney+, Amazon and AVoD streaming platforms like YouTube and Facebook.
The studio’s content catalogue currently consists of over 2,800 episodes and three feature films.
