Hissho Sushi has teamed up with Mike’s Hot Honey to deliver a limited-edition sushi roll to its network of retail partners.
The exclusive Hissho Sushi product is a spicy California roll that is topped with maple smoked salmon, Japanese BBQ sauce, sriracha, onions, sesame seeds and a Mike’s Hot Honey Extra Hot finishing drizzle.
The collaborative sushi creation is titled the Hot Honey Maple Smoked Salmon Roll.
“Innovation is at the heart of everything we do at Hissho Sushi,” said Hissho Sushi president, Matt Wilken. “Partnering with a trailblazing product like Mike’s Hot Honey has allowed us to push boundaries and craft something truly crave-worthy for our customers,” added Wilken. “This collaboration is a reflection of our passion for bold flavor, our commitment to premium ingredients, and our drive to bring exciting new experiences to sushi lovers.”
Available for purchase from July 28 until September 28, the licensed sushi roll will be available at close to 2,000 retail locations across the United States.
These locations will span Hissho Sushi’s extensive network of grocery and specialty food retail partners.
Some of the partners that will offer the co-branded roll are Sprouts Farmers Market, Giant Landover, Giant Food, Meijer, Lowe’s Foods, Stop & Shop, The Fresh Market, Food Lion and more.
This collaboration represents the first time that Mike’s Hot Honey has worked with a sushi brand.
“We’re always looking to elevate familiar foods with our signature sweet heat,” said Mike’s Hot Honey founder, Mike Kurtz. “Partnering with Hissho Sushi allows us to bring a whole new layer of excitement to the sushi category.”
First founded in 1998, Hissho Sushi is a sushi distribution company that operates across more than 2,500 locations in the United States.
Created in 2010 by Mike Hurtz, Mike’s Hot Honey is an American condiment brand that uses 100% pure honey infused with real chili peppers.
Hurtz initially sold the condiment in small-batch, hand-labeled Hot Honey bottles to local restaurants and businesses. Following massive word-of-mouth and viral success, the condiment can now be found at thousands of restaurants and retailers throughout the U.S. and Canada.
Brandgenuity brokered the licensing agreement with Hissho Sushi on behalf of the Mike’s Hot Honey brand.
