Loungefly Launches New Disney-themed Backpack Collection

October 4, 2021

Funko’s lifestyle brand Loungefly announced its November Beauty and the Beast and Cinderella-inspired collections, continuing the brand’s monthly Disney Castle and Disney Villains Scenes Series.

The latest November drops include signature mini backpacks (MSRP: $80), a crossbody bag (MSRP: $65) and wallets (MSRP: $40), all available on Loungefly.com.

“Transforming classic Disney scenes and images, like Beauty and the Beast stained glass, into functional and whimsical fashion accessories is something that continues to excite our creative team,” said Loungefly Creative VP Liz DeSilva. “Our collaboration with Disney has continued to evolve to bring fans what they desire most, and the monthly Disney Princess Castle and Disney Villains Scenes Series truly celebrates not only the artwork of happily-ever-afters, but the Villains whose presence are as iconic as their heroic Disney counterparts.”

Examples of Loungefly’s growing range of Disney-themed backpacks.

In line with the series’ previously released Disney Castle Series, Princess Belle’s story is illustrated on the latest accessories, featuring the admired film castle on the front and artwork from a fan-favorite scene on the back. The Disney Villains Scenes collection follows alongside previously released villain-inspired products, showcasing Cinderella’s evil stepmother and stepsisters in a cosplay applique that looks into the world of the story’s hero. Both collections feature notable details, including an enamel zipper charm, applique, adjustable straps and the Disney x Loungefly metal plaque.

Launching its first collection from the Disney Castle and Disney Villains Scenes Series in June 2021, Loungefly continues to spotlight an iconic Disney Princess and castle, alongside a villain, each month. Previous releases include Disney Princesses Cinderella, Aladdin’s Jasmine, Snow White, The Little Mermaid’s Ariel and Tiana from The Princess and the Frog, as well as Disney Villains Maleficent, Ursula from The Little Mermaid, Hercules’ Hades, the Evil Queen from Snow White and Aladdin’s Jafar.

The Loungefly brand intricately designs backpacks, wallets, totes and crossbody bags to apparel, collectible enamel pins and other small accessories to tell wearable stories inspired by the most beloved properties in the world. Loungefly is known for the precision and intricacy of its products. Since becoming part of the Funko family in 2017, Loungefly has also expanded with Stitch Shoppe, the brand’s first high-end apparel line that launched in 2020 to promote body positivity (offering sizes XS to 4XL), and Loungefly Apparel, a casual apparel line for fans, in May 2021.

That quality has translated in licensing deals for many of the world’s most popular entertainment brands, including Disney, Hello Kitty, Harry Potter, Pokemon, Marvel, Star Wars, Peanuts and more.
