Watch Out Pokemon: Miraculous Trading Card Game Hits European Market

January 24, 2023

ZAG has launched a licensed trading card game for the studio’s Miraculous franchise in Germany and Austria.

The studio plans to expand distribution with a future release across Europe.

“Featuring the bold cinematic visuals from Miraculous, we anticipate strong demand from fans of all ages across Europe who will be eager to collect the rarest of cards and exchange them with friends to complete their Miraculous Secrets collection,” said Jeremy Zag. “All of us at ZAG are delighted to solidify our relationship with Epopia with the launch of this first Miraculous trading card game.”

The new trading card game, Miraculous Secrets, was developed by the ZAG Play Toy Division in partnership with the interactive childrens’ literacy company, Epopia.

Epopia first partnered with ZAG in April 2021, when they acquired global licensing rights to create interactive stories for their subscription service based on ZAG’s brands.

In 2022, Epopia collaborated with ZAG to create the Epopia Games label to launch the Miraculous Secrets trading card game.

The new Miraculous Secrets trading card collection features licensed characters, weapons, and more from the animated superhero series.

The cards feature exclusive collectible designs, thermo-heat technology, and previously unpublished secrets from the Miraculous TV series. The goal of the card game is to uncover the secrets of opponents to aid Ladybug and Cat Noir in defeating villains that threaten Paris.

Miraculous Secrets features a ready-to-play starter deck with over twenty-nine cards, in addition to multiple ten card booster sets that can be purchased separately. The booster sets include new characters, events, and bonuses that allow players to customize their deck.

The European game manufacturer Amigo is responsible for the distribution of Miraculous Secrets.

The Miraculous: Ladybug and Cat Noir franchise follows the lives of two teens who magically transform into superheroes to protect the city of Paris. The 3D-CGI animated series was created by ZAG and co-produced with Mediawan’s Method Animation production label.

The Miraculous TV series is currently available in more than 120 countries worldwide. Season five of the series started to roll-out this fall and an animated feature based on the franchise is currently in development.

ZAG is an independent entertainment studio that specializes in animated content for TV, film, and digital platforms. The company’s ZAG Play division focuses on creating licensed consumer products based on the studio’s portfolio of animated IPs.
