Major League Soccer and Fan Ink have signed an agreement for a licensed headwear and accessories collection for MLS’ North American league.
The new agreement with MLS represents Fan Ink’s first league-wide licensing agreement in North America.
The company will be responsible for designing, producing, marketing, and distributing the products on behalf of the North American league.
“With all eyes on Major League Soccer as of late, the league is poised to enter what promises to be a golden era for soccer in the United States and Canada,” said Fan Ink VP, Robert St-Amant. “Staying true to Fan Ink’s commitment to give fans more, we believe the league is the perfect collaborator to bring to life the unique visions and stories of its world-class players and loyal supporters. Our mission with this partnership is to work closely with each MLS club to reimagine how fans consider and experience authentic licensed products – and apply it towards never-seen-before interpretations of headwear.”
The initial collection will include several hat styles such as a Swingman snapback, a Psychedelic knit beanie, a Princeton snapback, a Strike One8th adjustable cap, a Marina 2.0 bucket hat, and a Club Gold Snapback.
The headwear will feature the crests and brand marks of the clubs included in the North American league.
“Over the past decade, Fan Ink has worked with the most storied teams from across the international soccer world,” said Fan Ink president, Kevin Au-Yeung. “This agreement with MLS presents an opportunity for us to build on this momentum by leveraging our industry expertise, design excellence, and unmatched product quality, to help the league’s clubs tell stories – both new and timeless – with the aim of exciting fans around the world,” Au-Yeung added. “We look forward to playing an important role in the ever-growing demand for all things MLS, now and in the years to come.”
The licensed headwear and accessories collection will launch in February 2024 to coincide with the arrival of the MLS season.
