PBS KIDS is adding new audio content to its portfolio of family-friendly podcast series for release this this fall.
The new content will include an original podcast series called Jamming On The Job, a new season of The Arthur Podcast and a new series called Playdate With The Wombats!.
“We’re so excited to introduce kids to fresh, fun podcasts that we hope will get the whole family listening, learning, and enjoying these audio adventures together,” said PBS KIDS SVP, Sara DeWitt. “In addition to inviting them to rock out with new friends while they learn with Jamming On The Job, The Arthur Podcast and Playdate With The Wombats!, these podcasts will give kids opportunities to further connect with characters from some of their favorite shows in unique, new ways.”
Produced by PBS North Carolina and PRX, Jamming On The Job is a music-centered podcast that stars the childrens’ music duo Christina Sanabria and Andrés Salguero, also known as 123 Andrés.
The podcast will feature Christina, Andrés and the magic music machine, BoomBox, as they tour the United States performing songs about different careers and learning about the skills needed for each job. The fictional BoomBox character is voiced by Pierce Freelon.
Developed as a part of the Ready To Learn Podcast Accelerator program, the Jamming On The Job podcast officially premieres on Sept. 14, 2023.
A third season of the Arthur Podcast is scheduled to launch on Nov. 9, 2023.
Based on the animated Arthur TV series, The Arthur Podcast features audio adaptations of episodes from the Arthur TV series with new commentary from the main character.
The Arthur Podcast is produced by GBH Kids and Gen-Z Media and distributed in partnership with PRX.
Debuting on Jan. 4, 2024, the new Playdate With The Wombats! podcast will feature the characters Malik, Zadie, and Zeke from the PBS KIDS TV series Work It Out Wombats!.
The podcast will guide listeners on an interactive audio playdate that encourages them to answer questions, count, sing, dance use their imaginations and take the role of Wombuddies.
Produced by GBH Kids and Cultural Whisperers, the Playdate With The Wombats! podcast is intended to develop and reinforce computational thinking skills.
All of the podcasts are available free on-demand on the PBS KIDS Video App and across all major podcast platforms.
Following their premieres, new episodes
of Jamming On The Job, Playdate With The Wombats!, and The Arthur Podcast will roll out weekly.
Additional PBS KIDS podcasts are slated to roll out throughout 2024.
