Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) has launched a new division for the company’s experiential entertainment and licensing projects called Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences.
Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences was created as a combination of the company’s Global Themed Entertainment and Studio Tours & Retail teams to form a single cohesive division.
“WBD has an incredible mix of location-based experiences for fans around the world, from theme parks and tours to exhibits, retail and more,” said Warner Bros. Discovery CRSO, Bruce Campbell. “Bringing these two teams together under one roof gives us an opportunity to leverage and coordinate the talent and resources across all of our experiential businesses to better delight our consumers through offering even more truly authentic and engaging in-person experiences and events in every market.”
The newly combined division will be responsible for managing all of WBD’s studio tours, retail destinations, touring exhibitions and location-based experiences across the company’s extensive portfolio of licensed brands and wholly-owned entertainment IP.
This includes high-profile entertainment properties such as DC, Looney Tunes, Scooby-Doo, Game of Thrones, Friends and many more.
The newly-formed division will be run by WBD Studios chief operating officer, Simon Robinson. Robinson has appointed Worldwide Studio Tours & Retail EVP, Sarah Roots to continue in her role of managing the company’s owned and operated experiences.
He has also named Global Themed Entertainment EVP, Peter van Roden to continue his leadership position for the company’s licensed location-based entertainment initiatives.
“Peter and Sarah are experts in curating and executing global location-based experiences at the very highest caliber,” said WBD Studios COO, Simon Robinson. “Our teams have an obsession for detail that we bring to each project and together, we will be able to bring partners – and fans – even more of what they’ve come to expect from a Warner Bros. experience.”
WBD Global Experiences will focus on further expanding the company’s experiential offerings through the creation, development, licensing and operation of a wide range of location-based entertainment experiences.
