Steven Singer’s Gold Dipped Roses for the Witches of Wicked

November 19, 2024

By Gary Symons

TLL Editor in Chief

Steven Singer Jewelers is introducing to new gold-dipped rose designs, inspired by the upcoming film Wicked.

The expert jeweler has become renowned for his famous gold-dipped roses, and over the years has launched a number of licensed versions for various entertainment brands.

In this case, Singer is working with Universal Pictures on a pair of new designs that will pay homage to the Wicked characters Glinda and Elphaba. The limited-edition products will be for sale across the US from Steven Singer’s online store, along with the company’s physical store based in Philadelphia.

“Because of our own dual nature, we were excited to partner with Universal Products & Experiences,” said Steven Singer, Owner of Steven Singer Jewelers.

“The cinematic event of the year, Wicked, captures the duality of the expected and the unexpected, and of course, the beloved characters of Elphaba and Glinda. We are so excited to develop two halves of a beautiful set of roses to celebrate such an iconic film!”

The collectible roses are made of real roses and real gold. Each rose is picked at the height of its beauty, disassembled, and then reassembled by hand to allow for the gold plating process.

The licensing process has been managed by the team at Born to License on behalf of Steven Singer Jewelers. Born to License was responsible for identifying the most suitable license, negotiating the licensing terms, managing the approval process, and looking after all other licensing aspects.

“We’re excited to see Steven Singer Jewelers expand their licensed product offering inspired by Wicked, which will no doubt delight fans this holiday season,” said Born Licensing CEO David Born.

To support the launch, Steven Singer Jewelers will be implementing a marketing campaign, including radio advertising and social media content.

The Wicked collection, which will consist of a soft pink Glinda-inspired rose and an emerald green Elphaba-inspired rose, will retail for $99.95 each and will be available to purchase from November 22.

Wicked is being heralded as one of the most anticipated films of the year, coming two decades after its debut as one of the most beloved and enduring musicals on the stage.

Directed by filmmaker Jon M. Chu (Crazy Rich Asians, In the Heights), Wicked is the first chapter of a two-part immersive, cultural celebration. Wicked Part Two is scheduled to arrive in theaters on November 21, 2025.
