Sam and Dean Winchester (L-R in above photo) from the long-running Supernatural series have returned, along with their beloved ’67 Impala known as ‘Babe’, in a new comic book series.
The deal between Dynamite Entertainment and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products will see the demon hunters hitting the road again in a brand-new Supernatural comic book series debuting this October.
Supernatural was one of the most successful sci fi/fantasy series in history, running for 15 seasons with 327 episodes. The series focused on the Winchester brothers prowling the highways and byways of small-town America, on their mission to root out demons, ghosts, and monsters wherever they can be found.
The third main character in the series was their trusty vehicle, a midnight black 1967 Chevy Impala, with an impressive load of weapons tucked into its capacious trunk. I drove the exact same car as a teenager, and if there was ever a vehicle that I would take on a demon hunting excursion, it would definitely be the Impala!

This comic book series featuring brand new stories is set between the foundational first and second seasons of the Warner Bros. Television series, bringing readers back to the early era of adventures where the dark magic first began.
In this new comics series, the constantly bickering brothers Dean and Sam will be confronted with a disturbing new threat to take down before they can turn their focus to vengeance for their departed mother.
The acclaimed author Greg Pak (Darth Vader, Lilo & Stitch) takes on the task of writing two of the most iconic characters in media for one of the most dedicated fandoms. He’s joined by gifted artist Eder Messias, reuniting following their collaboration on Sam Wilson: Captain America.
“A couple of dudes in a cool car chasing monsters, demons, and ghosts? , said Pak. “Tongue-in-cheek, but deeply-felt emotional story of sibling rivalry and family tragedy? Hugely fun, anti-authoritarian heroes and vibes? Look, I was hooked with the ghosts, but I’m all in.
“Fans of Supernatural know the show is a blast and it’s an enormous pleasure and privilege to be able to dig into this wild world, especially with Eder Messias. We’re going for fun and grounded, and then we’re going to absolutely cut loose when the time comes.”
“When I received the invitation to work on the Supernatural comic book series, I almost fell out of my chair!,” added artist Eder Messias. “It is by far my favorite television series. Here in Brazil, on Saturday nights, they would show four episodes in a row. After that, we would spend the week talking to friends about the next episodes. I’m looking forward to bringing this story to fans and giving it my best!”
The Supernatural comic book series kicks off its run as the monster hunters hear of a series of mysterious fires haunting a decaying rust belt town. When a local factory burns down, followed by several employees going up in flames, and the CEO is suspiciously well-prepared, it’s up to Dean and Sam to investigate.
The new comic book series is complemented by atmospherically arresting covers from superstar Clayton Crain, as well as David Cousens and interior artist Eder Messias, plus special photo covers from the show.
With 15 seasons on the CW, Supernatural is the longest-running American live-action fantasy show, and remains one of the most beloved franchises by fans. It remains a popular show, streaming on Netflix, and boasts a 93% score on Rotten Tomatoes.
