Video Game Licensing:  Ubisoft and Hasbro Launching Monopoly Madness

December 9, 2021

By Allison Watkinson

TLL Reporter

A new arena style video game called Monopoly Madness has been released for PC and gaming consoles by licensing partners Ubisoft and Hasbro.

Monopoly Madness is an online multiplayer video game based on the well-known Monopoly board game. Although it is based on the classic board game and has a similar goal, Ubisoft and Hasbro have added many new elements to the video game to give players more freedom.

Players will face up to five competitors in a real-time race through Monopoly city to earn the most money through buying and upgrading properties. During this race, random events occur that the player must adapt to in their quest to earn the most currency points.

Another feature of the game allows players to sabotage their competitors using items from Community Chests, such as bulldozers, to damage their opponents properties. This adds a more competitive edge to the classic Monopoly formula.

MONOPOLY Madness features 20 new playable characters and four unique environments with their own ambience and architecture. This gives players multiple levels and layouts to compete on.

In related news on video game licensing, Concept One Accessories has partnered with game company Blizzard Entertainment for the development and distribution of cold weather accessories.

“With the momentum around e-sports and gaming, which we don’t see slowing down, Concept One was eager to partner with Blizzard on their fantastic roster.” said Lauren Dennis, Licensing Consultant for Concept One.

The games that the merchandise will be based on will include the popular Blizzard titles, Diablo IV, World of Warcraft, and Overwatch.
