Invisible Universe Seeks More Visibility Through Segal Licensing

June 26, 2023

Invisible Universe, an internet-first animation studio known for its popular social media-based animated franchises, has announced the appointment of Segal Licensing as its Licensing Agent for the U.S. and Canada.

Often referred to as the “Pixar of the internet,” Invisible Universe has gained a massive following and high demand for its animated properties, such as Qai Qai, inspired by Serena Williams’ daughter’s doll; Clydeo, based on Jennifer Aniston’s dog; and Squeaky & Roy, featuring the long lost toys of Dixie and Charlie D’Amelio.

With millions of viewers engaging with Invisible Universe’s portfolio, the studio has partnered with Segal Licensing to expand its presence in the physical product market.

Segal Licensing, a division of FCB Canada and part of the Interpublic Group of Companies, will work with Invisible Universe to establish partnerships across various categories, including toys, apparel, accessories, home goods, electronics, and more. Their goal is to offer fans of these franchises more ways to engage and connect with their favorite characters beyond the screen.

Shane Mang, Head of Licensing at Invisible Universe, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, highlighting the studio’s commitment to innovation.

“Invisible Universe is at the forefront of how consumers are discovering new animated franchises, and we want to bring this same innovation to the world of consumer products,” Mang said. He believes that teaming up with Segal Licensing, a reputable consumer products agency known for developing creative partnerships and licensing programs, will enable them to deliver unique and exciting product lines to fans.

Stuart Pollock, President of Segal Licensing, acknowledged the remarkable appeal of Invisible Universe’s next-generation animation franchises.

The Invisible Universe character QaiQai is among the studio’s most popular characters to date.

Pollock stated, “We see big potential in what they have created, and we are looking forward to collaborating with them on bringing their exceptional lineup of franchises deeper into categories where they already have a presence as well as brand new ones.”

Invisible Universe, as an internet-first animation studio, focuses on cultivating popular character intellectual property (IP) on social media platforms before expanding into various entertainment sectors, including film and television, publishing, games, merchandise and licensing, and music.

Their strategy has proven successful, with more than 12 million followers and two billion views of content across TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. By creating high-quality, animated storytelling that resonates with social media users, Invisible Universe ensures its characters remain relevant in trending culture.

Segal Licensing, a prominent licensing agency and part of the Interpublic Group of Companies, specializes in developing licensing programs that allow brands to extend their reach and provide meaningful consumer experiences through licensed products and collaborations.

With a wide portfolio of entertainment, lifestyle, and character brands, Segal Licensing has established strong relationships with Tier 1 entertainment studios and brands in North America. Segal also offers its expertise in marketing and communications alongside licensing services.

Invisible Universe says its partnership with Segal Licensing marks an exciting step for the internet-first animation studio, as it expands its presence in the physical product market and brings its beloved characters to life in new ways.
