Anime: Concept One Expands Licensing Partnership With Viz Media

February 15, 2023

By Allison Watkinson
TLL Reporter
Concept One and VIZ Media are expanding their licensing partnership to include accessory collections for two additional anime properties.
The expansion adds the product licensing rights to Viz Media’s Death Note and Komi Can’t Communicate franchises to the company’s pre-existing partnership.
Concept One is a fashion and accessories company that specializes in creating and distributing licensed products based on entertainment brands.
The company plans to release a range of licensed headwear, bags, small leather goods and cold weather accessories for the Death Note and Komi anime brands.
This expansion builds on Viz Media and Concept One’s previous collaboration which included licensed accessories for the Naruto, Hunter x Hunter, and Inuyasha anime franchises.
“With the continued strength in anime and manga globally, we’re continuing to aggressively expand our portfolio of licensed properties,” said Concept One CEO, Sam Hafif.
“Our relationship with VIZ has really flourished over the past few years, and we’re very grateful for their partnership.”
VIZ Media is a US-based company that specializes in manga publishing, anime distributing, and entertainment media. VIZ Media Consumer Products’ division handles the licensing rights to the company’s portfolio of anime properties.
The Death Note and Komi Can’t Communicate accessories collections are scheduled for release in Fall 2023 through both specialty and independent retailers.
